In the running for the best song of 2017. Sonically unique, lyrically heartfelt, and emotionally raw as all hell.

I like this song. It is amazing. Play it all the time. The dirty projectors are just so unique. Reminds me of The Beatles in a way. Not in music style but in feeling. Like the music is so unique and hitting new things I’m not hearing elsewhere mainstream. But it’s refreshing and almost feels free and raw. It’s beautiful. It’s something I need in 2021 honestly. While music feels fake and more mass produced than ever before with even country trying to be pop. It’s just so refreshing to have something that you can’t place into one box. They do acoustic, EDM, rock, pop and yeah…. It’s not easy to label them as something. So I just say “they make music that they like and people’s likes are ever changing”. They worked with Björk and that there is enough. Björk is Queen to me. She is also one of those you can’t put into a box. It’s refreshing.

The fiery, autopilot, romantic kind of love typically fades after 1-3 years on average. This is usually misinterpreted as the only type of love. Truth is, a second type of love exists: conscious, willed and much more powerful. This love can rise, expand and sustain a relationship in perpetuity, but it takes dedication, sacrifice, compromise, kindness and compassion. No wonder it's completely off the radar for so many humans, and increasingly so. Seek the latter, brother/sister, and you might avoid a lifetime of cyclical relationships like the one depicted in this song.

From the wiki: "Research by the University of Pavia suggests that romantic love lasts for about a year...However, research from Stony Brook University in New York suggests that some couples keep romantic feelings alive for much longer." The research I've seen typically identifies somewhere between 1 and 3 years. Just finished Chapman's bestseller, and he suggests 1-3. Point is, it lasts about as long as most relationships.

The different stages in a relationship: beginning, romantic/shining phase, crumbling, ending and possibly a chance at a new one. It reflects the singer's thoughts on his breakup with his girlfriend and also musician partner (hence the second sequence with the ice skating couple).
