I mounted 4 flechette in my FDL couple days ago. Was fun. Then i put one on my crazy adder with reverberating cascade mines. That was ridiculous

Nice, yesterday I got killed by a player with Diamondback Scout with remote release flechette. I had no idea how to defend against this weapon... He knocked my drives out with just a couple of hits and then I just helplessly watched him finish my Python... Is there a defence against this attack? I wanted to ask the other Cmdr, but since I play in VR,, the communication is not the easiest task... It was fun though... :-)

Flechettes are very effective against shield-tank ships, with no MRPs and point defenses. So having a balanced defense strategy will allow you to absorb more flechettes, shoot some incoming flechettes. Flechettes build ships relies on their opponents to actively stay in the fight, since damage is not immediately noticeable (module damage). you might think you’re winning the fight with healthy hull, but in reality, your drives and plants are taking a serious beating. Lastly, if you don’t have MRPs, or point defenses, but is a shield tank with SCBs and heatsinks. Use those heatsinks to cool your ship long enough for you to become temporarily un-resolvable in their scanners. If they can’t target you, they won’t have a lead sight to know where to launch and release the flechettes. Just don’t fire back, firing will resolve you again. Cold running is a great way to defensively escape.

@@CMDRNaQan Wow, a great piece of advice there! Thank you very much! YOu are correct in your assumptions... I am running a shield tank, because my Python is purely PvE ship for bounty hunting and material gathering purpose... Being confident, that it is very hard for my enemies to knock down my shields, I was actually very relaxed, when this small ship attempted to interdict me... I submitted immediately and I first thought he just wants to chat, because shortly before, we "o7"-ed each other... So he pulled me out of supercruise, me very relaxed, he starts pounding me with flachettes (I did not know at that time, that he has flachettes, as I did not scan his internals) and before I woke up, I was dead... I rebought my ship and immediately went after him, just for fun, to see whether I could knock him down, but the fight ended up with me again being helplessly rotating in space... This time,e he spared me, just knocked my drives and left with "Fly safe commander"... If I wasn't in VR, I would have chatted with him, but chatting in VR is really difficult...

@@TheCzechmate007 It’s always a good learning experience when going up against Non-Meta builds. While most people usually run to forums and blast how OP the flechettes are. I wish more pilots were like you and actually realize that there’s more to combat than just shield tanks. My channel was dedicated in showcasing the effectiveness of these non-meta, low threatening ships, with lethal combination of engineering to bypass Shield builds. From cascade mines and torpedoes, and rapid fire advanced missile racks with Penetrators munitions. All to destroy shield tanks before they realized what happened. Fly safe!

@@CMDRNaQan Thank you again, my dear Sir... I actually enjoy it when someone attempts to engage me in a fight. I usually lose, because I'm only good in PvE. I try to learn and I was also thinking about building some small deadly "zipper" to just casually fly around and do some minor "pirating"... But then I do not want to deal with reputation and bounties, so I usually dismiss the idea... I also sometimes try to get my revenge, just because it is fun. It is also a source of very funny situations, like last time, when I saw another commander, who griefed me the other day. He was now flying in his mining ship. I was in my PvE FDL, so I thought I will have my revenge. I did not realize, that even a mining Cutter build is still a tough opponent, which gave him enough time to fly back to the station... I was so absorbed with trying to demolish him, that I forgot, that the station will attack me... And so it happened... I got pulverized by station gimbals and we then had a good laugh with that other commander, who at that time did not even remember me, but when I told him why I went after him, he was probably laughing his tits off... Anyway, I enjoyed your video and you also fly safe, commander! If you get a friend request from Cmdr. SleepyDelegate, that's me... :-)

I knocked out his thrusters with Remote Release Flechette Launchers. Once it was destroyed, I engaged silent running, to drop off his scanner. This makes the other pilot believe that they’re safe and will attempt to reboot/repair their shot to bring the drives back online. Doing so will also reset the shield generator, exposing his hull for my super lend. It saved me ammo on flechettes and switched to the super pen rockets foe the kill.
