Eh, credit to the FDL pilot actually, they did not actually run when the shields popped. Only when they were about to die. And to be clear, the fight WAS over at that point. With the drives about to go down there was no real chance at coming back, at by staying any longer they'd have lost their chance to flee altogether.

In the first 3 minutes I started to have the though "what would he do if the FDL would have one gimbled beam laser with thermal shock. From my experience the eagle (both kinds) deal badly with heat and this would not only really ruin a possible silent running build, but also bi-weave runners (like your 1C bi-weave) and builds which need to synth from time to time (like you needed a few minutes later). One could also argue thermal vent would be better because of the heat PAs generate, but I wouldn't count them that much in.

@@kuhluhOG hull/stealth tanks has always been unpopular and not many pilots build their ship around the hope they run into one. Unless you already have one built and stationed nearby for a quick swap. Almost all my encounters are organic and you just have to work with whatever is thrown at you.

Isinona-esque, and that's as high as my complement level goes! Not just ace piloting...toss in STORY telling. Also, my old eyes must finally be failing, never could see the rails or PAs, even on 1080p. :( GG to the both o' ya.

Thank you for the compliment! Isinona was legendary, definitely inspired many pilots, including myself! I took “Blaze your own trail” to heart :) As for the PAs, I upped my gamma just a tad bit, it was too dark, but yes they’re harder to see now than previous versions of Elite. Even the missile contrails were greatly subdued.

Could you make a tutorial on how you maneuver against these more bigger ships? I genuinely want to be a eagle/courier main too. Also when exiting a joust it looked like his rails should have hit you while you were at a stand still how did you avoid them?

FA off with boost helps a lot of maneuverability. Watch this video for settings. You’ll be circling big ships in no time! For that joust, it wasn’t that I was standing still, our relative speed just matched appearing like there were no movement. He either had bad aim because he was also in FA off which can add some challenge to aiming at small ships.

It’s a hull tank, with HRP also engineered for heavy duty, along with its armor. I prefer hull strength over speed, especially since I’m trying to bait them into my mines.

This is fascinating to watch largely because both of your ships are incredibly poorly suited to actually hitting the other. A few gimballed weapons on the FDL and they'd have eaten your lunch, but the meta is actually pretty crap at dealing with really tiny ships flown very well.

That’s the nice thing with going in patrolling in open, you’ll never really be perfectly suited to counter specific builds. And harder for my opponent who may not be familiar with my builds, which not many pilots use.

Mines remain hard to use. The Eagle pilot will struggle to replicate the outcome in the recording more than a few times, if that.

Glad you pointed that out about struggling with mines. They are hard to use. So when an experienced opponent knows how to dodge them, and still gets their shields nuked, makes using mines even more satisfying. :)

@@snakeoo7ca Looks like Rapid Fire mod with Reverb Cascade experimental. Rapid Fire increases chances of a hit since you can cluster them on a target and get multiple impacts. Small ship can usually synth if ammo is a problem.
