Great segment! I'm so glad that the DIS covered TDR. We visited Japan & TDR last month and had an incredible time. Good work Sean Michael.

Great job Shaun Michael Noah! It was a nice overview of Tokyo Disneyland. Thanks for sharing your great memories. I'm sure there were many directions you thought of taking the segment, but you explained the Japanese cultural differences in the parks as well as the rides very well! You did a nice overview and packed a lot of info into a short segment!

Aww well done Sean! I really enjoyed this segment :) I have always wanted to know what Disneyland Tokyo was like, thank you for sharing all your personal memories and experiences :)

One interesting thing is how the Railroad in TDR is a ride-ride -- not a form of transportation. You can't get off -- you start at one point, make a circuit, and then get off at the same place. There's no using it to cut across the park to avoid a parade, for example.

(Toward the end.) One more important distinction to make is that, unlike Florida or California, a two-day park hopper in Tokyo Disney Resort does not exist as such -- you must choose one park, per day. Even with a three- or four-day passport, guests may not visit more than one park on the same day until the third or fourth day of the passport.

If anyone is interested travel channel years back had a special on Tokyo disney sea. It explains differences and shows unique behind the scenes if you want more detail.

I was just there July 16th through the 19th. The food item that was the craze was the gyoza buns, but that seems to have passed.
@Ostracized110 жыл бұрын
Those Gyoza buns in Disney Sea are SoOoOoOo good. It usually has a line. You are taking about the one next to the volcano, correct?

The 'buff" Mickey and other character shirts ARE licensed Disney product. A little research can go a long way. It was nice to hear, but I learned even more on KZbin.

I watched Disney Sea Fantasmic on KZbin…OMG Amazeballs. I hope one day to visit the Tokyo Parks because they look like nothing i have ever seen before.

I wish that we had an Ariel's grotto like the one at Tokyo DisneySea. Although I like the Big Top Souvenirs, I am not a fan of the Storybook Circus area either and they could have used that land space to expand Ariel's Grotto.

(Twenty-four minutes in.) The TDR Pooh ride is awesome...! The animated "pages" opening and fluttering there are similar to the ones in Florida, but in Japan, your hunnypot not only BOUNCES up and down, but when you reach the end...HUNNY, the delicious smell of hunny, like the gingerbread in the ballroom scene in the Mansion.

Don't forget the honey popcorn stand right across from the ride. GOOOOOOD stuff.

Didn't know Dis Unplugged already had a TDR episode!

(Twenty-two minutes in.) Cafe Orleans -- which does exist in TDR -- is a quick service, not table service, and sells not Monte Cristos, alas, but okonomiyaki (a kind of savory pancake). We had the squid one; it was pretty good.

I was a bit surprised he never mentioned Queen of hearts banquet. It's a good place, to not only eat but to warm your 'buns' if it's winter outside..... or to cool off during the humid summers

I remember when people used to dress up to go to Disneyland in Anaheim, where I grew up in the 50s & 60s. ºoº
@psychobetty17 жыл бұрын
GregtheDisneyfile it is awesome to see people dress up. I love going to dapper day at Disneyland in California. everyone dresses up and even the mannerisms are completely different. like I stepped back in time to when Walt Disney opened it.

I just looked up Dapper Day at Walt Disney World and I see it's coming up in April. I'll try to take my 3D camera rig over and snap some "guest" photos. :-)
