Disabled bay parking abuse

Little personal rant at Uber and all others that think its okay or 'Cool' to park in a disabled parking bay. No one will mind, its not like a disabled person would want to park there!. Our local McD's is a prime culprit for this, but I know it’s a problem I am perhaps you see in your local area (comment below). I have tweeted about this particular local branch and while I did get a reply, it was the “Classic” everyone uses it reply of - “Sorry to here this, please DM more details” (DM=Direct Message). When you do, no further comment!. I get the staff are running flat out to operate the Restaurant with no time to police the car park, besides the carpark is operated by a 3rd party, and that 3rd party will slap a FINE on you if you stay longer than the allotted time, Some 90 Mins.
So why can they not police and fine this part of their carpark? TOO MUCH EFFORT.

I purposely park far away everywhere I shop because I don't need the close spots, unless I have someone with me who needs a short walk. Most of us these days could use the extra steps! I hate seeing handicap parking cheaters.

If you parked in the disabled bay so your daughter could go and collect a meal, then you are just as guilty as the uber drivers🤡

MS is one of the hundreds of "Not Visable" conditions. Personally I sometimes wear a shirt that says "I am not drunk I have Multiple Sclerosis". First time I wore it to the office (Previous job). One guy said "You cannot wear that, its dis-respectful to those with MS".... He went Bright RED when I brought him up to speed!. Okay my walking was so much better in 2016.

This is one reason I carry a cane. I have inherited tremors ("familial") that over the decades has begun to effect my balance. I have a disabled license plate, but rarely park in handicapped because I don't need it much. When I'm having a bad day, though, I need it. I could grab a cart to learn on (if one is loose) but the cane makes it clear I am disabled. Actually I don't mind people ranting at Ubers and healthy drivers missing the spots. I've never had to explain, but wouldn't mind if I did. The police and business owners are too busy.

Sorry to hear that, people are ignorant my late dad had Parkinson’s and people used to moan so he had a walking stick when he did not really need it, a blue badge should be enough don’t know why people still question folk if they have one and can walk, disabilities are not just people in a wheelchair they can also be mental as well as physical wish people would be more tolerant

I've had my friend take me to sites where private and as blu badge isn't a legal requirement there, I have disability registrations with local authority, my disabled bus pass, dwp. Paperwork and surgeries patient summary also statin on learning disabilities register and those mean one can use the disable parking under equality act But we can't do that on council parking as blue badge legal requirements Also ref double yellow line even with blue badge u can't park on double yellows with the street stripes on curb, these are not allowed by anyone to park or load etc

Very true, yet there is a requirement to provide x% of disabled bays in a commercial carpark of a certain size. So it makes you wonder why SOME and I mean SOME companies do not monitor their investments. But at the end of the day - What ever, we are no one, we do not need or deserve help. Lets take a moment and ponder what the person that abuses the space would say if they woke up and had mobility issues - Anyway - Thanks for the comment. Get this all the time, this is considered a crimal act under the equity act, take a picture and send to the police, this carries a fine of £1000 pound and a crimal record. Also little know fact as a disabled driver as long as all the assessable bays are full you are legally allowed to park in the parent and child parking spaces as long as the assessable bays are full at the time of parking.

Disagree most people are law abiding and will park in correct spaces, only a few idiots park in disabled spaces that aren’t entitled to do so.
