Bristol taught me 2 things. How much I hate stage cautions and too much tire wear is better than no tire wear.

I think Tire Wear and fall-off did matter a whole lot actually, because they went so long without cautions. We saw the drivers who pushed it and made some passes on the bottom in the first 40 laps after pitting bleed time for the next 80 laps, Ty Gibbs got hammered after he drove up the field and got stuck looking under Suarez.

We needed a race like this- we’ve needed one for a while. This wasn’t Bristol. Nascar shot itself in the foot by making the cars so equal to one another. If one car has just a smidge of something the others don’t, it’s unbeatable. Clean air is everything. Too much mechanical grip. Put a 20th place car in the lead and it’ll stay up there. Put the best car in the lead and there is nothing anyone can do. The overtime finishes that bring “entertainment” hide the fundamental issues of the car. While a dominant winner is old school Nascar, this didn’t feel like old school Nascar. The next gen car just doesn’t feel like Nascar at all, just manufactured entertainment rather than proper racing

I must be missing something. I've been watching NASCAR for 35 years, since I was 5 years old, and I thought this was just an average race, like 60-70% of them are. I can think of two right off the top of my head that were much worse, like last years Watkins Glen race and that spring Martinsville race. Last years night race at Bristol wasn't better either, it just had more cautions which caused more chaos which seems to be what everybody wants? I don't really get it. Yeah, it was uneventful and one drivers dominated, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The best drivers shouldn't be wrecking all the time no matter what track they're att and the best drivers on the best teams should dominate races from time to time. Honestly, it was kind refreshing to see one car dominate a race like that and it is needed sometimes. Like I said, average race. I'm not saying the car doesn't have problems, it certainly does, and I hope they address some of them very soon. However, I think something else they should do in the meantime is get rid of SMT data sharing. I'm telling you, it's part of the problem and a bigger part than people realize. It won't fix every issue, but it will help create more differences, mainly the driver skill and talent variable. What good is being the best driver if others can just copy your inputs in real time? Yeah, they might not be able to do it exactly, but the drivers are smart enough and good enough to get close, which levels the playing field in a way that wasn't available in the past. I've rambled too long already, so I'm done now...

I have watched since the early 1990s. My problem is that Bristol is suppose to be one of the ultimate short tracks. Short Track racing meaning beating and banging(not stupid wrecking), tempers flaring, and good drivers/cars/teams being able to move up through the field. If your car/driver was good they could pass. If your car was bad, it was a long day. We didn't see that here and it didn't feel like a short track race. The cars are too easy to drive and they don't display the talent of Nascar drivers.
@evanwilliams6406Ай бұрын
@@provicate4334yeah and now it's a long day for us fans because it does not feel like that. When Bristol went to progressive banking it messed it up. The beating and banging and tempers sold tickets, now you can actually get tickets.

Larson made history again, that's something at least. After the chaos the last few weeks, a quiet race is fine. On the negative side, seeing drivers punt each other through the corners but having the cars not budge an inch shows just how much grip they have.

Can we talk about how bad the broadcasting was? They’ve been doing side-by-side commercials during green flags since their Daytona test, why would they not do it now during an elimination race and short track where 5 laps are completed within a minute? They also missed Bubba managing to go from 7th to 3rd at the very end of the race, instead, they had 3 cameras focused on the most boring parts of the race, Larson who is 5 seconds ahead of 2nd place, Gibbs and Suarez who are too many points from each other for a bump and run from Gibbs would be meaningless. Again, Bubba went from 7th to 3rd and they fucking missed it. This is another reason why I fucking hate the playoffs. NASCAR gives NO attention to anyone that isn’t in the playoffs, that’s why fans are no longer watching races, if their favorite driver isn’t in the playoffs they’re not even going to be given any attention unless they crash but even then it’s pretty much “oh no, this guy crash… anyway.” It gets so much worse in the last race because they only look at 4 of the 36 drivers, god help us if 1 or 2 of the final 4 wreck out of the race because we’ll be stuck with watching only 2 drivers. Last year they never acknowledged Chastain’s existence when he won the race. I don’t know if people are just biased because it’s NBC but if we’re going to clown on Fox for every little mistake they make we need to hold the same standards for NBC because they’re really starting to fall to Fox’s level of incompetence
@thicccheese4007Ай бұрын
The commentators told us to watch how hard it was for someone to pass… THEY IMMEDIATELY GO INTO FULL SCREEN COMMERCIALS!?! I don’t know if this was NASCAR censoring how ass the cars are with how impossible they made it to pass someone or if this was just pure incompetence by the broadcasting crew. Either way, it’s an absolute embarrassment to the sport
