Some of you have been asking for some updates on wear & tear of certain bags! Did any of these bags surprise you? I am definitely disappointed in the Bottega Venetta piece, especially given the high price point. Let me know which are some of your worst wearing bags.

Interesting and informative video! I actually sometimes put my seatbelt on over a small crossbody bag, too, when I’m in a rush and not really thinking about it. I bought a small Longchamp Le Pliage last year (due to everyone on social media raving about those bags) and used it just a few times and noticed the same type of wear you did, as well as distress on the nylon where the handles were attached. I wasn’t really the biggest fan of the look of the bag to begin with, but the wear really turned me off.

Yes nylon can be a great fabric bec it’s so lightweight but it can wear down quite easily unfortunately. I have a love/hate relationship with it 🙃 I have to agree, when I first saw le pliage bags being worn by everyone on my way to work in NYC like 20 yrs ago, I had not idea it was Longchamp at the time, it didn’t visually appeal to me either. But 10 yrs ago I bought my first one for travel in a cute print so I loved it. My bigger ones only get used for travel so they still look good but I guess when you use it on the daily they get beat up faster. I hope you can still enjoy yours! @@heartmumblr Yes, in the right color or print, they sure are cute. And the leather ones are so soft and supple. Mine was kind of a “blah” pink nylon that wasn’t the most attractive, and then the wear made it look worse, but I think I can still make it work for a vacation transit bag, at least!

The old style, Bottega Veneta leather weaving (thinner strips of leather and tighter weave) wears MUCH better. I like these newer giant-weave styles too but the leather edges are more vulnerable no matter what you do. 🤷‍♀️

I am not surprised to hear that the older styles wear better. Sadly quality seems to be less in every category these days 😢 I suspected when I bought it the edges might curl so i shouldn’t be surprised. but I agree the weaving is so beautiful. Thanks for watching! ❤

I bought the La Pliage(sp) tote and used it for work almost a year before the pandemic shutdown with no issues. I got mine from Nordstrom. I know it's a different model than yours but had no issues with daily wear. I still use it now for travel because of the zip versus the Neverfull. I hate yours had issues.

That is so great yours is holding up so well! So strange and disappointing how badly worn my is considering how new it is. My other le pliage bags are fine but I don’t wear them as often so who knows…I do feel better knowing that they are being used and meant to be worn and this price point doesn’t scare me as much as some others might. I think the bag still looks great even with the wrinklingyou pointed out. It’s meant to be used, not pampered. I would keep enjoying it, using it and leaving it on in the car and not worry about it

I'm still pretty shocked about about the Longchamp after two months. I have Le Pliage bags from 25 years ago that don't have that wear - it makes me think they're slacking on material quality. I don't baby my bags either but I have to admit I'm much more conscious when I'm using my Chanels (and their use is infrequent these days, except the Reissue).

I’m not surprised though bc EVERYTHING is made cheaper for a higher margin across all categories these days. Such a shame! Oh my, this actually answers some issues I've been dealing with,thank you! I love soft leather but i wasn't impressed with Bottega's. I just could tell it wouldn't last long. Speaking of soft lambskin though, I did bought a YSL med Kate reversible and the soft leather is divine. It was floppy yeah but I bit the bullet bec I was in love with it😂(i used inserts, also condition and protect). Anyways, I used it a lot( around 4-6x a month)to see how it holds and just to take the repercussions if ever 😢. 5mos later, no scratches! There's wrinkling bec its soft but I love that effect. Its the scratches, glazing issues and corner wear that bugs me. Longchamp is a over-rated i guess, I thought it's just me,I didn't use mine much but there's corner wear just frigging hanging in my closet😂! All in all, its my LV canvas bags that withstood time. Boy,I love soft leather but it's tricky which batch are made better😢.

Yes the Bottega piece was such a let down 😭 I’m so glad you’re enjoying your reversible Kate! I was struggling with that one when I first bought it. But I loved the leather and suede on it! Longchamp wearing down in your closet made me laugh out loud 😂🤡 It’s all trial and error sometimes so that’s why I love watching reviews but I’d never seen a review on wear and tear on the classic basket weave bags after lots of wear….only unboxings etc. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! @@heartmumblr true, I guess you are the 1st I've seen that did a wear and tear on their weaved leather and I always wonder how it will hold up. I would always visit them at Neiman Marcus(touch, squeeze etc) among with other brands just to make sure if maybe it will make my wish list. I like that Chanel and YSL are just side by side YSL at Neimans and I can back and forth touch the display😂. But wear and tear reviews are very important, so much more unboxings than this your right.

I wear my seatbelt while wearing g my bags all the time but I make sure the body of the bag is not squished by the seatbelt. Just pull it down over the seatbelt. Thanks for sharing so we don’t do the same thing.

If you don’t have an organizer in it maybe putting one in will help it straighten out a bit. It’s not too noticeable on video tho.

I have wondered whether rolled handles would rubbed against each other. I’ve not yet had issues with my bags but I will be mindful now. Perhaps wrap the more expensive bags in twillies😅😅

Surprised about the Longchamp bag! I have the large tote, it’s a step up from the regular one, it has black leather not the usual brown, and it’s pristine! I’ve had it over ten years and it’s been shoved under airplane seats! I would try and return it!

Yeah kind of a bummer. I’ve checked all my bigger longchamp bags on the corners and they seem to look ok. Maybe bc the smaller one is used more frequently and gets more daily abuse? (Sigh). Maybe I will ask about repairs one day. Thank you for watching! ❤️

Try steam off the wrinkle gently. Cover the part with old T-shirt & slowly steam and massage the area. It helped for my lambskin boy bag. Good luck!

Would u say that the Fendi Baguette closure is secure enough to be worn as a travel bag to go sightseeing in crowded areas? I like the bag but I am having doubts due to thr magnetic closure.

Hmmm 🤔 I’d say while the closure is definitely secure for a magnetic closure for regular day to day use, I wouldn’t say it’s safe enough for crowded areas where professional pickpockets prey on unsuspecting people. Probably a bag with a proper zipper would be better in those scenarios. I hope that helps! ❤️

I haven’t had any color transfer on mine luckily (and I wear it a lot), but that is not to say it can’t happen. I would mostly try to avoid heavily dyed denim rubbing against it which is very likely to rub off but otherwise I’ve had no problem at all. I hope that helps! ❤️

Nice video. I’d say the bag has held up amazingly considering the abusive behavior you put her through. Like how can you even be surprised 😅. I guess not many people will do that to an expensive bag so it’s ok. Still looks beautiful tho 😊

No I don’t bec I didn’t want to take up more space inside the bag…maybe I should have tho 🤔 but I always stuff the baguette with air bags when it’s not in use to keep its shape.

The Fendi bag is beautiful. The creasing in my opinion is not that serious. It’s leather there’s going to be wear & a showing that the bag is being used & loved.
