Hi Carol, first off let me thank you for a real and honest view of the up and downs of garment fitting and sewing. I have been struggling with my hobby of sewing this year since fit issues are so hard and take so much time. With all the education, books and time I have put into this, it has taken some of the enjoyment from me. What I also found so uplifting was your attitude about everything. I really needed that, so thanks again. Your Pembroke dress looked stunning on you. I think I have that pattern and I need to make it apparently. I look forward to your next video. 😊

Thanks, Karen! I feel you when you talk about losing the joy of sewing due to poor fit. And it's not just poor fit, it's the frustration of not knowing how to correct the poor fit. I love to sew! So I think the solution is to devote a lot, and I mean a lot, of energy to learning how to fit. I really like the Pembroke dress. Let me know if you decide to make it and what you think of it if you do!

Thank you, Sara. I thought of you when talking about Bella. I know and your husband are still getting over the loss of your dog. It's such a huge emotional roller coaster. I appreciate your kind words!

Your Pembroke dress is lovely. The colour suits you perfectly. I’m confident whatever you end up making for Frocktails will be beautiful. The silk is gorgeous. I love the idea of the green tulle as an underskirt for your dress. Your videos describing your thought processes are always interesting. As already mentioned, you don’t have to have finished garments all the time.

Oh, Miss Polly! You have a lot on your sewing plate. You know the old saying . . . slow and steady wins the race. I made seven mock-ups of my favorite pants before I was finally happy with them. Don't give up! Your pup is adorable. Our pets are an integral part of the family. We treat them like children. Please keep us posted. Btw, we dress according to the temperature and not the season. Shorts and tees are the name of the game throughout most of the year.

The Pembroke dress is absolutely stunning on you! I think you’ve just inspired me to make one for myself. I’ve had the pattern forever! LOL The silk charmeuse you bought is so beautiful. I like the idea someone had to use the tulle as an underlayer for the dress. You’re doing great with the pants fitting and learning a ton which is the important part. As far as sharing with us, I love when you share your journey so don’t worry about final products so much!!

Yay! Thank you, Izzy. Let me know if you end up making the Pembroke. At first I wasn't that keen on the pattern, but now that I've made a couple and have worn them, they're one of my "go to" items to get dressed in the morning especially when I'm running short on time or just don't feel like putting a lot of energy into getting dressed. You and a couple others have mentioned putting the tool under my dress. I think I'll give it a try! Take care!

I love the green tulle with your hair color. I think you will be striking in what you create.

Oh you are so nice Julia! I'm having fun going through the process. Making the dress really isn't the most important thing, but it gives me an excuse to make something that I normally wouldn't; and that's kind of fun!

I love the red dress! The silk is stunning! It is also surprising how it can keep you warm. I had a silk jacket that I used to love! Fitting pants is such a challenge. I am so sorry about your Bella! Have fun sewing

Thanks for sharing, Katinka! I've enjoyed watching your videos and love the dress you just made. I forget the name, but it's actually the second time I've seen it recently. I think Sara, from knottygnome crafts showed a picture of the dress in her last video. I wasn't sure about the neckline, but it looks great on you!

Hello, Polly! Have you considered using the silk as your top layer with the tulle layers as a poofy slip peaking out from the bottom? The silk is so beautiful. Can’t wait to see what you decide.

Hi Carol sorry to hear about Bella. Could you share the book you are using for your pants fitting information? I'm having the same struggles as you with pants 👖. Love your Silk Fabric, and cropped Jacket will look nice 🙂 Thanks for all the information you share😉🌴☀️

Hello Ely! The fitting book I'm using is called "The Complete Photo Guide to Perfect Fitting" by Sarah Veblen. I'm finding it really helpful and full of information. But I do find it hard to do fitting by myself. 😟 I've tried to have my husband help, but he just doesn't get it so I have to try it on, take a couple pictures, access, and try again. Let me know how you're getting along with your pants fitting!

@@pollysews Thanks Carol, I'll try this Book, and yes I have the same problem of being able to fit myself. I did put up mirrors to try and see what was going on in the back, still working on fitting.
