Good video. I just purchased my GX4. I wish it could be field stripped without a tool, but all in all, I like it. I haven't gotten it to the range yet because of winter weather. I found your video very informative on the takedown, clean, and lube of my firearm. Keep on keeping on bro

I just purchased one as well. I found you can use the back end of a 9mm round to turn the slide release that way you wont need a tool. Hope that helps.

The pull tab on your jeans zipper will work if you have nothing else.

You are going to use tools to clean it, so unless you are stripping it down to just look at it, a take down tool shouldn't be a problem.

Great video, I just this gun today, and as with any new gun I get I always clean and lube, before taking it to the shooting range, I also ordered the Viridian laser for it, since there was a $30 off coupon inside the box. Can’t wait to get to the range to put some rounds through it, if it shoots well then I will most likely pocket carry as my EDC. Thanks for the video enjoyed

Thank you for the awesome directions/cleaning demonstration video. I purchased my Taurus GX4 yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not notice that one of the magazines is defective and bullets will not go into the magazine. I have to call Taurus...let them know the problem, take whatever Taurus tells me to take over to Academy, and Academy will ship it to Taurus, then they ship it back to Academy, then I have to pick it up at Academy. It was a display gun and the last one they had. I did not want to wait for another shipment of the guns to come in because ... well...I didn't want to wait for God knows how long. Anyway, seems like a lot of rigga-ma-roll for a magazine (that is if Taurus responds). Last time I tried calling Taurus customer service they didn't answer, and I do not consider that good customer service (I have a G2 that I purchased 7 years ago).

Took mine to the range ran about 50-60 rounds , had no jams at all. Took it home took it apart and cleaned it put it back together , racked it and then it started jamming . Idk if I messed it up by cleaning it, Any advice ?

Try taking it apart again and lube it up, maybe link up with a local gun smith

Not necessarily, you can clean it if it gets dirty but I dont think I’ve ever cleaned one. Most companies recommend you replace the recoil spring around 2,500-5,000 rounds.

So I have one of these and I took it apart to clean it and I pulled the trigger pack out of the frame and some little bar spring looking thing fell out which I’m assuming is the spring for the slide release and I cannot figure out how to get it back on. Does anybody know where I can find a video to reassemble that trigger pack?

Running cheap 9mm (not reload, but cheap brass) through GX4, I had several failures to feed in which there was a small circular sliver of brass sticking out the top of the gun... Is this just maybe an issue of some part being too new, and needing some rounds through it?

That’s very possible, I would make sure it is lubed up and run another box to two through it. If the problem continues and send it back to Taurus

Too much looky looky 👀 at me self promotion & glib. Tone down lil hopper, the subject is basic disassembly, cleanup, & back together. Using shell casing is not the proper fit and will damage the disassembly “plastic” pivot screw except in an emergency, which this isn’t one. Think professionally and act accordingly, then you’ll represent the shooting world much better. The novices can pet your ego and put lil clank in your pocket. I hear some Boston or Newark in that accent. Substance not hype, quit, subtle , relevant professionalism. Talk to them like novice friend needing guidance and useful knowledge minus the bs, then you’ll be more successful and helpful. Good or bad it’s out there now. Have someone that’s a real professional critique and edit your content for accuracy and relevance = success all around. Nuff said
