yep - that screamed of someone who hit two balls, found one and had no idea which one it was....so assumed it was the first "conveniently". Don't get me wrong we've all hit a three off the tee without noting what ball your playing, but...the correct thing to do in this scenario is to accept you made a mistake and assume it's your second ball. As you said, the first was way left.
