I believe for most of these functions you need a up and running repeater with internet. The heading is great if you did all this before the storm hit

We've been doing emergency comms for western NC with zero power or internet on ham radio. You only need internet for digital modes. Echolink, all-star, d star, fusion.

@davep6977 NO repeater needed to ping location. If you have comms in range. That's is where the range transponder works well to keep you in range. With a C4FM repeater you will get better range. As well the radio in my truck is compatible with the handheld and has a built it crossband repeater. Thanks for watching hope you enjoyed
