I remember doing a road trip few years back. A 6 hrs drive turned into 13 hrs due to a unexpected snow storm. 5-10mph for hours with nearly 0 visibility. I got nothing but trauma that day, but thank God we made is safely to our destination. I could only imagine what it's gonna be like in a super car in this situation.

Once you said they detoured you through Aspen, I knew which road you were on. That route is a piece of work even dry. Shows some serious skills there, guys. I did, also, get into snow near the top, in a 2002 WRX. My hands were pretty sore from white-knuckling for an hour or so. You guys are just plain nuts... Love it...

This video reminded me of a trip to Vancouver I took in my RX7 Turbo, back in 80s. All good till we got to Roger's Pass. 2 feet of snow, everywhere, crawling along at 20 miles an hour, the theory being, as long as we're moving, no matter the speed, we are getting there. The ground was white, the trees were white, the air was white, scariest drive of my life and I've crossed Canada 🇨🇦 from coast to coast to coast, although I had to take a train to Churchill to see the Arctic Ocean, no road. Big country, every kind of weather imaginable in one day, sun, rain, snow, back to sun, all between Calgary and Revelstoke. DDE rocks, no matter the weather, true Canadian heros. Love you guys.

Don’t let go of the wheel if you hydroplane, just keep the wheel in the same direction until you hit pavement again, and can redirect your wheels to where you wanna go. Bc if you let go of the wheel, then the tires catch and the wheels are at an angle? It will whip the steering wheel and front wheels to the side you’re turned to, dramatically, and you’ll roll the car or lose control, or spin out. So keep your hands firmly on the wheel, in the initial direction you were in as you entered the hydroplane, and never listen to Dave’s driving advice again. 😊

You guys should’ve stopped in downtown aspen, it’s a great time. That road you took is called “independence pass” I recognized it right away when you showed one lane. It’s a beautiful but scary drive, I love taking it. Edit: a couple years back when I was doing that drive a blizzard came out of nowhere like in the video and the whole time there was one of those x-bow cars with the open top behind me and I remember seeing them using blankets hahaha

I once did this ride on a motorcycle……from aspen thru independence pass to salt lake…over 12000 feet above sea level…..not only does it get super cold up there, it’s hard to breath and the roads have no guard rails. Drive safely boys!
