I felt that Umi felt more like a Chinese restaurant. I prefer Sushi, and I am not a big fan of those other seafood dishes (without a Viet-Cajun sauce). So I would prefer going to Sushi Masa or Soma Sushi over going to Umi Seafood.

Every time I go down to see her, I bring her our oranges from our own trees and light incense and pray to our ancestors. I was so excited however found that all the seafood including the lobster and crab legs were not fresh. Was disappointing for the price and they did come and tell us we are almost at 2 hours mark :(. For seafood I still prefer Tokyo Japan less choices but more fresh reasonable price.

Lately I found videos of a lady fisherwoman in China where she and family go out at low tide and harvest the beach and I've seen how labor intensive collecting abalones are..it's ALL hand done. Sometimes they take their boat and explore other tide pools further out among huge rock formations and catch crab, lobster, conches, and octopi...and lots of handf ishing and line fishing of fish,,,plus..they grow their own oysters. It's amazing to watch....I think she's a "Fish Fairy" ....it's really interesting. Yes, I did just watch this video again....stay well..

The crawfish season started out bad this year due to the over 2 months of no rain last summer. At the end of the season the crawfish bury themselves in the mud until the next season. But the drought was so bad that many of them did not survive. The beginning of this season the prices were ridiculous over $10.00 a pound. Since then with all the rain and warmer weather they have come down to under $4.00 a pound. Hopefully we do not have a repeat of a bad summer with no rain. Hope you are feeling better with my post a month late and over due. Great Video!
