love to see these being fixed up instead of becoming a load of e-waste. they’re also pretty powerful once cleaned and maintained.

Agreed Megatron, however they do hold a lot of unsightly dust in the Cyclone unit which is only retained by the Filter. I buy these to overhaul and sell on as i find my corded Henry Hoover outshines these by a long shot 😀.

@@green-crocs-fixes1520 The Henry Quick is the best cordless out there. The pods cost a fortune but it's sort of worth it. The DC08 up until around the DC21 had the cyclone clogging problem. They're not as efficient as the DC22 onwards which is why so many of these end up at the dump and in skips when they clog up and people can't figure out what todo with them or the motor burns out because they've clogged.

@@megatronskneecap Very true Megatron, have a look at this one from a couple of years ago, might be of interest to you in regards to your statement regarding the Motor Brushes. Its a Dyson (Cinetic) Ball, in two parts though kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2Gakn1jfbJ0jdEsi=QWhUVRSAHGLgndx_

@green-crocs-fixes1520 The cinetic big ball was probably the worst machine they ever made simply because they were trying to push how "efficient" their cyclones were but it turned out the motors would just trash themselves with the lack of a good filter. The suction holes were also miniscule making the machines essentially useless for anything more than fine dust.

Thanks for making this video, I have an old dyson like that and it’s given me the opportunity to get it working again, very useful information

Hi!. 3:18 what is the hexagonal screw driver size to dismount the handle?
@green-crocs-fixes1520 Жыл бұрын
Hi Path finder, it's called a Star Torx Screwdriver. Size T15 I think.

Thanks for thus but at 3:05 into the video I can not remove that part it's like it's stuck. I have the white dc08 so I'm wondering if there's a difference between the two models?

Thanks Mirie the funnel at the bottom of the Cyclone unit should just pull away as you see. Regards.

@@green-crocs-fixes1520 thank you. I managed to remove it, all parts are washed and will give it 24 hours to dry. Already bought new filters so will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

@Yeoblade it worked fantastic. I swear it had more suction than when it was new. And I'll be cleaning it again soon. This video saved me from buying a new vacuum.

I did all this after my dyson animal dc08 made a funny sound. Almost knocking rumbling sound. Then came a rubber burning smell. No suction. So i followed instructions. Put the plug in it cave a small humm and no totally dead. Could it be the power supply switch that burnt out?
