Listening to this on Good Friday 2022. I’ve been jamming this album since it came out. This song wasn’t my favorite and made me uneasy from day one. But as I sat and listened again on this last Good Friday I know why it was written this way. This song embodied what Jesus did on the cross. It was violent. It was terrible. It should make us uneasy. But it should also make us realize His love and sacrifice. We are no longer slaves to sin because of Him. Hallelujah! This song now holds a special place in my heart, and I think I’ll be listening to it every Good Friday from now on.

It's talking about how Jesus takes on (is) all our sins and misdeeds. Even though he knew no sin and is pure he took on what should have been our penalty, he died for our sins.

Just to let you know, that Jesus Christ of Nazareth does not look like that now. One night after midnight I was on my deck praying for my dad who just called to tell me he was just diagnosed with prostate cancer when while praying for my dad , Jesus showed himself to me. He is bright as light . Completely illuminated with white light.. John 3:16.

He is on the earth already. but he hasn't gotten the call from the father yet to finish everything. Jesus said where 2 or 3 are gathered in his name , there he is in the midst. I could see his forearms and hands and lower legs as he walked slowly down a hill in our backyard. I could actually see his hands open with his fingers pointing towards the ground. I could not make out his face or torso because the his light was so bright surrounding him in what you called a " form". What was the circumstances surrounding the Lord revealing himself to you.?.

It's Jesus saying that He became every sin that we have done so that we could be free of them. He lists some of them in the verses and the chorus is Him saying give me your penalty for your sin. Such a great song!

Not bad, but honestly this is my least favorite Album, while "Long Live The Rebels" was my favorite. Same thing happened with Red. Their second most recent album, "Beauty and Rage" was their best in my opinion, but the most recent "Gone" is the worst. Not as extreme though. At least this album is still good, unlike Gone, which kinda sucks.
