No, it doesn't look solid. Even from the trailer, there are clearly no stakes in this movie. They have to deliver physical copies of the now-contraband Bible to now-illegal churches? Why don't they just go on the Dark Web chat room and attach a PDF? Why don't they just create a website--or a few websites--on the Dark Web and just host it there? Or host it on the sure-to-exist now-illegal Christian forums there? The plot should have been something along the line of the characters being former preachers who still proselytize in secret and the villains are trying to neutralize them because they are Christians. Perhaps the government has lists of suspected or known Christians that they are rounding up, or maybe the Christians have been segregated into a sort of Gaza Strip and the Woke Atheist US Government is planning to nuke it to wipe them all out, and the main characters have to escape, warn everybody of the imminent threat, and stop the nuke. Even ignoring the fact that the movie runs entirely on the Christian Prosecution Complex, at least those plotlines would have had stakes to them. Here, even the trailer has to ask us right off the bat if we care. Whatever your ideological leanings, it's just poor writing if nothing happens regardless of whether or not the protagonists do anything. Sorry, but as someone who does a lot of creative writing and is hoping to make a living off it one day, stuff like this bothers me. You can make a movie where the Woke Mob treats American Christians the way Evangelicals wish they could treat LGBT people, that's fine, but your big action dystopian thriller has to have some actual stakes in it. From what I understand, the Bible-banned world the movie depicts isn't even different than our real world other than you not being allowed to own a Bible! Where are the stakes? Why should an audience care? These are the missteps of a 13 year old girl writing a Naruto / Harry Potter crossover fanfic, not actual filmmakers putting out actual theatrical releases.

It's interesting... I'm not from the US, in my country christianity is not practiced that much anymore... And I always had the info and feeling that America was a very, very majority Christian country - I even was there for half a year 20 years ago as a teenager, basically everybody wasn't only Christian but going to church weekly... But apparently in the USA the Bible is on the brink of being outlawed? Can anybody back that up with statistics of any kind? It's really... This puts my whole image of the USA into question. But to know is half the battle.

USA is not very christian anymore. Alot has changed during these last five-ten years. You can barely mention Jesus before people starts laughing and mocking you, preachers are getting attacked and shot. Pride takes over. They even have Pride"churches" and that's two words that should NOT go together, since it goes against the Scripture. Hollywood is being filled with satanic rituels, the goverment has discussed if they will put restrictions on the Bible or not and the list goes on and on... It's not. What you're seeing is called the "Christian Persecution Complex". Pretty much, the loudest Christians in America (not "all Christians", most "Christians", or "the average Christian") believe they are victims of intense persecution because people of different faiths and with different opinions are allowed to exist in their presence. Even the most minor disagreements with these specific Christians are allegedly vicious assaults on their free speech, freedom of religion, and basic human rights. The issue is that these Christians have become far more prominent in government and media. So it just seems like they're everywhere because they keep getting time to speak on the House floor.

It's not. People equate forbidding prayers in school (led by the school, you can pray on your own) with Christian persecution. There's no risk of the Bible being banned any time soon. The closest its come is people pointing out that if people want to remove certain books from school libraries (teaching about sex ed, the existence of gay people etc), then surely a book with incest in it (the Bible, see Lot's daughters) shouldn't be allowed? But no one is seriously trying to get it removed, just trying to get the current book bans reversed.

I like that they are just banning a version of the bible, not Christianity entirely. Also that they think that their English language bibles are the exact word of god and not rough approximations based on the decisions some random person made when translating the words from Greek or Hebrew.

The point is get the word of God out there. In your language. Study it in the meaning from the original languages. Most ppl are not going to learn those languages to read it. Ok so here is my thought. Notice that only/ownlee the bible will be the book done this way??? Not the Quran, Book of the dead or any other texts of what is called pre christian era?? Here we go.
