Good video even 13 years later 2nd Rapture trick: You can also force a rapture proc on the tank about 12/13 seconds before large aoe damage is going to occur. This way you dont really have to worry about if a shield breaks while preparing a big rapture proc

@rq146 Although the tool tip for Power Word: Shield doesn't explicitly say this, the talent does not reflect damage other people take when buffed with your shield. It works for damage that YOU take....thus the 2 points are very hard to justify in most end game content. It is a helpfull talent for leveling for just grinding in general.

Well Disc is a little more abstract then Holy. Holy is very traditional healing. Target looses health, you add health. Disc is more about preventing damage from reaching your companions so end result is they take less damage. Targets take more damage when Holy person is healing, as counter Holy has greater positive healing output. Targets take less damage when Disc is healing, as counter Disc has decreased positive healing output. This is where disc gets misunderstood with "small" heals.

@ashk0n Yes. That is the primary downside to this. In order for this to work as planned, you cant shield a tank for 12 seconds before an AoE. That being said, you can heal spam the tank and hope for crits to shield it that way.

@ashk0n This serves as to show HOW its done, not advocating that this is how you should always play. As a healer you will need to make real time desicions about who needs your attention the most. But its still good that people understand the tools that are available to them.

what was the add how you have all the bars on the side and at the bottem. also when your applying sheilds at 2.22 and your clicking the names in that big box. i only have the recount add and as a disc preist its not that helpful.

@musicforgirls i was in your boat too, what could possible be good about using flash heal? holy specced greater heal is so huge! then i tried it... it's so easy mode now that i barely have to do anything since the shield is taking most of the damage, literally, shield and prayer of mending, wait a bit jumping around, maybe a flash heal then reshield, i literally watch tv while i heal

How many disc priests do you bring to a raid? If you are only bringing 5-6 healers and you want to dedicate one to just PW:S, would it be better to bring a resto druid and treat rejuv as a "shield" instead? Rejuv won't prevent anyone from dieing on large spike damage, but you can keep it on more targets than PW:S
