While Garithos overreacted it's obvious Kael got played by Vash to join Illidan. For all we know she burned the shipyard herself and took the ships to give them to Kael, because why Naga would carry ships around? She said she doesn't work for Illidan anymore and in dungeon of Dalaran she tells Kael to join Illidan or die.

The modern Alliance does not regard Garithos as a war hero. King Varian and the other leaders know that it was Garithos' racism and poor leadership that doomed the campaign to retake Lordaeron. Although some members of the Alliance have prejudices towards the blood elves, King Varian was willing to bring them back to the Alliance, before Jaina got mad and forced them back to the Horde. One of his closest companions is a blood elf: Valeera Sanguinar, a blood elf rogue.

Well, the High Elves pretty much ignored the humans in thw Second War and only came to their help when the Orcs attacked Quel'thalas and... helped by the Humans.

LOL, the idea was to gather as many allied as possible before the orcs could launch the assault. Elves said no as they believe joining the war won't benefit them and the situation is currently not affecting them. But when orcs and trolls began attacking Quel'Thalas during the Second War, the Alliance sent an expeditionary force led by Turalyon to aid in Quel'Thalas defenses. That expeditionary force was subsequently withdrawn in fear that the Capital City will fall that's why its defenses need to be strengthened. And all of the sudden, Kael's father was calling the Alliance "traitors" for abandoning his homeland LOL. As if they're the ones who do not want to help and claimed they didn't need help in the first place.

Garithos is a swine. He completely set up Kael'thas. You can't blame the Blood Elves for their anger and resentment of humans. Still, its sad to see how high and noble a character Kael'thas was, in light of how cruel and treacherous he becomes later in the story, going into events of WoW. Thanks for the upload, I really should go back and finish the Frozen Throne Exp.

To those of you who hate the Alliance because of Garithos: This is NOT the same Alliance we have today. These were the last remaining human and dwarf forces in Lordaeron who had somehow survived both the Scourge and the Legion. Garithos became their leader because he was the last high ranking officer around thanks to his noble heritage. After he betrayed the blood elves, some of his men realized he had doomed them all and founded Chillwind Camp to aid the refugies instead.

At the end of the Human campaign in WC3 Blood Elves could be considered "neutral" this faction eventually becomes the one following Kael in Outlands, but its silly that the ones who remained in Quel'thalas suddenly felt like following the Horde rather than their king. The ONLY reason why the Horde has elves is because of faction inbalance, people on Horde cried because they didn't have a "pretty race", so they gave them one. Still BEs do not fit in the Horde, never have never will.

Taurens and Night Elves don't exactly hate each other, in fact they have worked together numerous times in the past. It's just that their alliances are warring against each other. And Darkspear trolls and the Blood Elves aren't really fond to each other, but Blood Elves couldn't really seek help from the alliance either and Thrall decided to give them a chance in the Horde.

1. the night elves are with the alliance and the taurens are with the horde. while the druids work together, they are still in different groups that are at war. and the taurens are very loyal to the orcs since they saved them. 2. the blood elves didn't make a holocaust on the darkspear trolls of the horde. they did it on a different kind of trolls who are forest trolls meanwhile the darkspear are jungle trolls and in a different "clan" so i guess the trolls are rather happy with the blood elves

They were weakened but at the end of Burning crusade the sunwell was restored and gained most(if not all) of its powers back. The only things stopping the blood elves from rejoining the alliance is bad blood with humans, loyalty to the horde(Mainly the forsaken), and a rivalry with the remaining high elves.

The High Elves, who eventually became Blood Elves were the ones that betrayed the Alliance, not the other way around. The WarCraft 2 manual expresses this clearly, and so does the WarCraft 3 one. After the Second War, the Elves left the alliance on their own, and only a handful who remained loyal stayed (like Alleria and her followers). So the only ones to be blamed (lore wise) for the Blood Elves leaving the Alliance is the Elves themselves, Garithos played little in this.

The elves were NEVER loyal to the Alliance to begin with. Their actions during the Second War proved it. They never cared about the humans, they only help only if it will benefit them, they only reacted when the events started affecting them (orcs and trolls invading their lands). When Turalyon's forces were withdrawn as the Capital City got threatened, the elf king (Kael's father) said they were betrayed by the Alliance even if Lordaeron soldiers already died defending Quel'Thalas even before the pullout and they're the ones who DIDN'T NEED help and DO NOT WANT TO help in the first place. They left the Alliance after disagreeing with King Terenas' expensive yet effective (lethargic orcs) internment camps. During the undead plague, Quel'Thalas also never cared about Lordaeron, the priests and sorceresses that joined Arthas were free-willed to begin with (like Alleria during the Second War). Again, they only took action when evil Arthas was already on their gates. During the Second War, Garithos served as a Lordaeron soldier in Quel'Thalas but did the elves cared when his baron father who was the governor/mayor of the region near the border died in the battle? No. And here they are, complaining why humans are so racist. Medivh prophesied that the humans will join the orcs and night elves in Mt. Hyjal because the Alliance was too disunited to handle the Scourge and Legion alone (it was shown when ambassadors surrounding King Terenas were arguing about the orcish movement). They won the Second War because of unity (though there were some uncooperative members like Gilneas, elves, and even a traitor like Alterac) but after it, the division within the Alliance grew wider. What did "Gilneans first and elves first policy" caused? Everything. Lordaeron destroyed, Quel'Thalas destroyed, Dalaran destroyed, Kul'Tiras isolated (after Admiral's death under the hands of orcs), Gilneas isolated (wall), Stromgarde weakened, Stormwind still rebuilding. Maybe the elves should have been cooperative early if they don't want "harsh language" from Garithos to begin with.

They would die because they have become addicted to it, and sometimes magical withdrawel can kill you. The blood elves succumbed to the lure of fel energy, while the High elves sought other means to quell their thirst. Those elves in Dalaran are the elves that were once part of the Dalaran council :) As were the Blood elves :)

@sims256 Some of them were The ones that were in Silvermoon became Blood elves, but because a lot of them befriended the humans and wanted to explore the world they left, These High elves actually survived because the humans PROTECTED them. Garithos wasn't even a real general, just a Warlord that gathered the remaining humans into an army. Had sylvanes not backstabbed him the humans in the north eastern kingdoms wouldn't be hunted down by both Scourge and Forsaken :(

The only thing that changes things is that the two parties of Pandaren aren't from anywhere else but Wandering Isle, more or less if any chance but the major groups are from a rather political themselves when wanting two things, honor or friends in this case. It really makes sense up to this point since Garrosh was in charge at the moment and King of Stormwind took in the pride of new allies. Even if it would be a horde outcast. So... It really just bends at any angle in this case.

@KisiroKitsune Since TBC, Blood Elves don't consume fel or demon magic anymore. Now BE have the Sunwell, with a mix of arcane magic and the Holy Light powers. The BE model with green eyes is outdated, Blizzard have to do a new model for Blood elves, maybe with blue eyes or yellow eyes, because of Sunwell light powers.

So let me get this straight. The Blood Elves left the Alliance because Garithos disrespected them, sent them on a dangerous mission with no support, and ordered them executed for accepting aid from the naga. Okay point one. Garithos is a grand marshal tasked with retaking basically a continent from a world ending undead army. Personally I'm not in the military so any military people can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think following the orders of the higher ups without making a fuss is usually the thing to do. Point two. Garithos: We'll go fight the undead, you stay here. Kael: But we want to fight undead too! later Garithos: Now go fight those undead. Kael: What an asshole, making us fight undead! Point three. Kael why on EARTH are you trusting the NAGA? Hey remember when the naga used to be night elves and they nearly destroyed the planet because they work for the Burning Legion yes the ACTUAL BURNING LEGION DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER THAT. Of COURSE Garithos should be pissed that Kael was working with naga. Oh, and point four. The Blood Elves who followed Kael all left and went to Draenor, whatever Garithos did couldn't possibly have anything to do with what the Blood Elves who were still in Azeroth and did not go with Kael to Draenor think of the Alliance. Also, then Garithos made an alliance with an elf but got betrayed and murdered by her, and then Kael'thas made a pact with the devil. Elevator Eleven Also want to point out that Garithos also had many reasons to think that nagas are actual enemies. They appeared out of nowhere in a land where everything now potentially could kill you and then made a hostile move by capturing paladin. And let's not forget that Garithos fought in front, he probably needed those reinforcements. But alright, i just like Garithos. He was like the only heroic character (lead his people in the worst of dire times and bravely fought an neverending hordes of enemy) that blizz tried to set as the worst of the worst.

Because the high elves (later blood elves) were the closest relatives of the Naga not the night elves, they were both Highborne to begin with, Azshara's arcane-loving demon-loving upper-class elves and the high elves were once the Highborne subgroup in Zin Azshari led by Dathremar Sunstrider. So yes, Kael and his race had already demon in their veins way before they joined the Legion and Kael made a deal with Kil'jaeden.

Total character shift from WC3 to WoW - in WC3 he was the voice of reason and caution, even up 'til the Icecrown fight to stop Arthas. Then in WoW he becomes yet another crazy bugger, stealing from his own people? As if we didn't have enough of the "Fallen Prince" (Arthas) and "Fighting Fire With Fire" tropes (Illidan). The High Elves lived in peace with the humans for a long fucking time, many High Elves even attended Dalaran, and many served as arcane advisors to human kings, but the majority of their people lived in safety in Silvermoon and the surrounding lands. However, due to their constant proximity to the Sunwell and their inherent life long connection to the sunwell and its power (granting their magical power) they became addicted to it. When it was destroyed when Arthas sacked silvermoon....

@Cili1000XL Actually the Blood elves, like the Forsaken, only joined the Horde because they were shunned for using fel energy. Should they turn from that they would be welcomed back. Also the Blood elves are changed High elves, and both of them fought together during the second war. You are right though, there was some tension, but many high elves did join the humans out of friendship.
