Is it important to watch index trend while trading in particular stock which may or may not be part of the index?

It depends if you've found any correlation between them I guess. I don't trade individual stocks but it wouldn't be something I monitored if I did

Hi there! First of all, thanks for the great content! I'm going through quite a bit of it at the moment, and there's a lot of valuable stuff in there! A shame I didn't stumble across this any sooner, since you condensed a lot of basic into short videos that would have saved me a lot of time when I first started learning! I've been dabbling on and off in (paper)trading for the past 2 years, but recently decided to double down on my efforts because of a lot of extra time. I'd like to think that I have a basic understanding of what it takes to get consistent, but besides just journaling my (mostly discretionary a.k.a. random) trades. I've never really backtested a strategy. How did you settle on exact characteristics for your first strategy, or how would you go about this with the knowledge you have now? Cheers!

Hi Ran, Great question! Just start with the techniques you already know and spend some time looking through charts and see if you can notice anything as you apply these techniques or tools to the charts. This is a great way of building trade ideas. You can then test these ideas further if you think it's worth doing so. I won't lie, this can be a very tedious process and a lot of the time you'll end up not finding anything of note. But you will slowly start to piece together methods that you find worthwhile. Also if you go looking for other analytical techniques or tools, look for ones that complement what you have already. For example, if you have an overbought/oversold indicator as an entry signal, don't then try and add a similar indicator into the mix as it will likely add very little to the strategy and just confuse things. Hope that helps

I ❤️ this video... Watching tutorials of 30 minutes or 1 hour don't cover this much... You have covered every important thing in short video. Keep up the good work man. 👍

Would you do one of these for the browser version of MetaTrader 4, please? I'm specifically interested in how to close a chart window. I have several chart window tabs open that I never use and have been searching for days for a way to close them. Ctrl-F4 does not work for the browser version. Thank you.

Hello, I have followed your advice and set up Demo Account with ACY. What I am struggling with the Strategy Tester. It does not seem to be working properly. Or I am missing the point. I've watched several tutorials on using Strategy tester but no where can I find out how to alter the settings in the Tester to suit my Strategy. There are only 2 Expert advisors, Moving Average crossover and MACD. The default settings tell me my Strategy will loose all the money in my balance, so how do I alter the settings to try difference things. Please.

Hi Bob, which strategy tester are you using?
@bobblack40483 жыл бұрын
@@DisciplinedTraderUK there's only two to pick from. Moving Average cross over and the MACD. that is in the Expert advisor.
