I think the problem is Dave is confusing two different cases. Teddy Long confirm that Ron Simmons becoming WCW World Champion and Doom becoming tag champions was due to political pressure from NAACP and on going discrimination lawsuit. With Booker T, as Disco stated was voted to be champion by the booking committee, but Booker T was mention in another discrimination lawsuit against WCW as being one of the reasons why the discrimination case should be thrown out. So, it boils down to that WCW tried to use Booker T being the champion as a way to get out of the lawsuit but the decision to make Booker T the champion was already done and decided before the case. I feel that Booker T should of been made champion sooner than what he ended up being, as at one point he was massively over when people was raising the roof for him on their own. By the time he got the belt he had cool down some.
