Even though they could have chosen somebody else for Bobby to go after, there was at least a shock factor as Rey was returning and you wouldn't naturally expect what happened to happen. So in terms of Lashley getting some heat, it worked. If Rey hadn't been injured and this was done any other time or with any other Superstar there, then it'd be completely wasted because there's no invested interest with that wrestler. I think it did succeed with what it was supposed to do. Admittedly, it doesn't help Rey out in any way though. It feels as if they may start booking him like they did with Jeff Hardy on SD. Jeff would lose almost every match and was just used to put over whoever WWE wanted at the time.

Rey helped start a movement to a more athletic style that gives the smaller guys a chance to shine and that probably lead to a decrease in steroid use and helped bring a new generation of fans into wrestling and that is the only reason people still watch even after the curtain has been lifted on the wrestling industry.Plus I went to Mexico and fell in love with the Lucha style many years ago
