One of the best lines in cinema . . . EVER!

i think the movie was saying disco is garbage though. this movie is very south parky. south park has poked fun at disco, cheesy 80s movies, product placement, etc. so too has family guy. but the movie feels like an episode of south park... the movie pokes fun at things. it pokes fun at superman... the glasses for a disguise. this scene is poking fun at disco. they are making a c*nt of the genre... saying it was trash.

As campy as this movie very deliberately is, Eddie Izzard has some legit swag going on in it.

Best thing is that he is dancing to his own, no need for super-accelerated gymnastic.

We need more superhero movies like this. This is a classic and such a under rated movie.
@RaptorJesus. Жыл бұрын
it was revolutionary too! Captain Amazing being a corporate sellout long before The Boys, the final battle ending with a sky beam long before...well every super hero movie of the past decade. XD

I love how Eddie Izzard gets all emotional listening to the BeeGees even before Casanova Frankenstein tests him. It goes all the way from ridiculous back to heartfelt. What I'm trying to say is, Mystery Men has the same heart and crazy awesomeness of the Tick series.

I find it hilarious that a group of dudes in this movie all decided for form a gang centered around disco. All because they found it to be good music, and it was no longer a fad.
@Kelarys4 ай бұрын
I think they were already a gang dedicated to loving disco before it died lol, or else they wouldn't be part of casanova's team before he went to the asylum. It would be fun if that was the reason they got together though

Mystery Men came out in 1999. "Night Fever" was released in 1977. If Mystery men came out today, Tony P (Eddie Izzard) would be listening to The Ketchup Song or maybe "Doesn't Even Matter" if he was emo.

I remember watching this movie in theaters with my parents My dad is a diehard Bee Gees fan and when the scene came up, he was the only one in the theater, singing and dancing in his chair haha 😂

Rogan brought me here. When I saw Eddie was gonna be on the podcast I had to watch this. Yes this is epic as faa, but comes in 2nd to Cassanovas... Capt. Amazing: I knew you couldn't change. Casanova Frankenstein: I knew you'd know that. Capt. Amazing: Oh, I know that. AND I knew you'd know I'd know you knew. Casanova Frankenstein: But I didn't. I only knew that you'd know that I knew.
