I honestly like the Idea that Discord has trust issues due to how most ponies see him. When he was first reformed, only Fluttershy ever cared for him, while the other 5 and every other pony barely tolerated him and didn't really see him as a friend and more as a nuisance. Not only did he try to take over equestria, but the way he looks combined with his immense power and unpredictable nature, made it to where ponies, including the mane 6 with the exception of Fluttershy, both hated and feared him because of what he did and how different he was. In my mind, it was because of this that he sided with Tirek, because everypony but Fluttershy barely even tolerated him and treated him like an annoyance instead of a friend, and he was fed up with it. Afterwards, the mane 6 treated him like an actual friend, even though they still find some of the things he does annoying, which supports that theory of him betraying them because of how badly they treated him, and they realized this and started to try to be better friends with him. But even then, everypony else still despised him and reject him, probably even more so than before due to him betraying the little bit of trust he had from them. I honestly feel like even now it is tearing at Discord, because no matter what he does he is still treated like an outcast, everypony but the mane 6 and starlight still refusing to even get within 10 feet of him, much less accept him and see how much he has changed. Despite all their talk of friendship, trust and forgiveness, they have a poor way of showing it when they push away anything that is different than them, things that are outside the norm, with capabilities that they know nothing about and in their mind could be a threat for all they know. Because these creatures, like Discord, are different and have little to nothing know about them, ponies fear and dislike them and keep away because of it. Even though he doesn't show it due to his personality and 'normal' behaviour, I think that deep down he is hurt by the fact that no pony else wants anything to do with them, simply because of how different he is and his past actions. Even after saving equestria, I bet a lot of ponies still don't trust him or want anything to do with him. It is sad when you think about it that way, and I think it is a VERY interesting concept. But that is just my take on it, so take it with a grain of salt :p

It would make his tantrum in A Matter of Principals a little more understandable. (That, and I don't think he quite understands how breakable ponies are compared to him, thus the whole bugbear-chasing-the-students incident.)

The animation REALLY suits discord’s therapy visit. Most of the time I was like 🤩🤩 and then I was 😥😥 and the at the end I was 😆😆. I will have to admit I seriously thought discord was going to break the fourth wall and mention stuff like the bride and daughter of discord stories (like the mlp meets sailor moon). Still it’s nice. This was very interesting! The visuals fit beautifully with Discord's chaotic energy and made him look very animated (in more than one meaning of the word). My favorite part was when he manifested himself as a drawing. What you said about trust really struck a chord with me. When a person is genuinely trying to recover from a negative experience-as one who was hurt or as one who hurt others-it's painful and disheartening when others don't believe in them. And if one is regarded with suspicion and scorn, then it wouldn't be strange for one to become wary and bitter toward others in return. Thanks for sharing this with us! ^_^

I felt it was interesting with discord's response when Teri's betrayed him. I think he had thought he had finally made friends with a kindred spirit someone who excepted all sides of him, and didn't want him to feel like he needed to restrain himself at all. Besides discord had always thought of himself as a master trickster, but that interaction had showed that he had never been on the receiving end.

I can tell this was an ambitious project to undertake given the chaotic spells Discord displays here! Great job, guys! Also… Arbitrary Inference, a common cognitive distortion, is when a person infers and assumes something to be true without proper evidence to form a conclusion. For example, a person may infer that their friend doesn’t want to see them whereas there is no evidence to be sure of that. So, the person may avoid their friend to prevent that encounter(Beck 1963). YES!!! This is such a good message to convey, that jumping to conclusions can interfere with relationships! I think a lot of people do that. Many automatically assume people won’t like them or don’t want to be around them, so they enter a sense of helplessness and don’t even try. The best way to resolve it is to give people another chance and put yourself out there, like how DrWolf encourages Discord to reconnect with Celestia. Doc and Starbat, you both get a cookie for conveying empirically supported theories in a fan-made youtube series!

Discord is like the My Little Pony version of Beetlejuice (the cartoon version). Especially when Discord transformed into a butterfly and saying he's a social butterfly, sort of referencing BJ's literal translations! Heck, Discord and Fluttershy's dynamic is similar to that of BJ and Lydia in the cartoon!

It's been a while since I've seen CrownePrince's animation style, but it's fluidity brought me back to some of his early the high action animations. Like the one where he recreated a scene from Clone High, but with ponies. Also the one where Discord was trying to break out of cuffs. Which left me oddly disappointed that Doc didn't burst through the window behind Fluttershy to flee when he found out that he would be talking to Discord. Yes, I know that running from a patient would be waaaaaay OOC for Dr. Wolf, and I know that colored animation is hard and time consuming. It's just that the intersection of the fluid animation style, the animator's previous work, Doc's nervousness, and the clear path between Dr. Wolf and the window, led me to believe that Doc was going to 'Nope' out of there. I liked this episode. Well acted Fluttershy and Discord. I tend to prefer the "A moment with" episodes where Doc has to wrangle the guest a bit and he gets frustrated and annoyed along the way. Also, it's a little weird seeing Doc move around on all fours, when he usually moves around bipedally in all of the other art styles.

This may be my favorite AMWDW in a while! I was already excited at the idea of a Discord session, and this definitely delivered something entertaining. Will's performance as Discord is still a delight and keeps getting better, the writing is excellent with a great idea for what would trouble Discord enough to talk to Dr Wolf about, and the animation is just remarkable. Crowne Prince really gave Discord's chaos all the energy it requires (and the way she draws Discord is so flipping cute!). Every snap of his fingers put something on the screen that made me smile or laugh. Just like Discord in the show itself. A great collaborative effort from all involved! This is a video I'll be coming back to a lot.

Discords issue is relatable to many people and i do have similar issue with discord since i always restrict myself from having a nice conversation to prevent myself from being rude,blunt and being unable tl confess and express my depression to someone i trust not even doctors can assure that i can trust them. This was good. Wish you had made it a bit longer, taken the time to explain to Discord that maybe cheesing the Royal Castle isn't the best idea....and to discuss his issues further, but really, this still was nicely done as is.
