If you have a higher flow do you think that would help cut down on areas they can potentially multiply onto ? I’m just under a year in now and got a single disco for my low flow area on a mushroom rock. My the rest of the tank seems to have good flow. Took a while but my candy canes are starting to multiply now.

Higher flow will spread them around the tank more. Putting them in your low flow area was a good move, that will help stop them from being blown around the tank.
