Been a Discount Tire customer for a while, two different cars, and they have always been good to me. From the service writers to the techs. Even thought about picking up a part time job at a shop here in the Twin Cities.

I honestly miss these kind of tire machines. I now work at a dealer with the automatic stuff where you just push buttons. It’s nice but I don’t feel as in control. I worked at discount tire for 7 months, and by far was my best job. The team and management were phenomenal, we didn’t oversell anything unless it was a safety issue, and I love that we do actual repairs on flat tires. I’m not sure about other dealerships but the one I’m at just uses those plug in ones where you don’t even take the tire out. Anytime a car comes in with a nail in it or a flat tire, I refer them to discount tire that’s less than a mile away. I explain to them that our repairs do work but I highly recommend discount tire since they do it for free and get it done right. I mean on average it’s $50-$60 bucks to repair a flat at the dealer. Plus you have all that dealer crap where you have to wait forever. The only time I would go to a dealer for a tire repair or new tires is if I’m driving a more expensive vehicle like a 992 or anything like that. Overall, I would highly recommend working at discount tire, but I would check the reviews of the place first, because some are awful service while others are amazing!

Just came here to say discount tire is the only trustworthy place I’ve been able to get tires from, had a flat and Walmart wanted to charge me over 200$, not the first time they have screwed us over. Called discount tire and they hooked me up with a tire that was 67$, plus they have swapped many tires for me free of charge when I was hurting for money

It is a lot to learn at once and i’m still learning different ways to do different things but once you get reps in it gets way easier. My honest opinion would be Discount is a great job for someone who has a good work ethic and wants to work a lot of hours (they allow you to work 12 hours a day) which equals really good paychecks. But you almost expect it working that hard in the damn heat all day lol. I knew almost nothing about tires starting and my shop is full of really cool guys that help when I ask a question. The checks are actually really good and they pay you during training (where you are learning on computer). So daily I’ll make $260 on those days. In a couple weeks I’ll make more in IT than at Discount for a month or more. How old are you and are you a tech or salesman? Best Practices is a term used by Discount Tire. They go hand in hand with our Dream Board, which contain our Operating Philosophies, Our Vision and Overall Strategy. In regards of what a Best Practice is, they have to do with our #1 Goal, which is to Keep Myself and My Team mates SAFE. Old discount tire ways you would not replace the sensor since we did not have them in stock meanwhile now with new types of sensors but aswell dealing with frozen sensors the time to change 1 tire in a minute is long gone unless you are working with a honda with rubber valves most of our guys tend to break sensors on which we would have to replace for our mistakes

Said my tire pressure sensors were worn out and needed new ones. They are still working fine.

@@nathanthompson8545 the old machines when they were not electric and used air to turn the motor it was possible but our changers suck now since they can turn at a certain speed. Reason on why they changed is that people were scratching and it was a bit dangerous
