Hi, of you're bike is under insurance then claim it. I suggest this is best option as most of them don't do meter gear fixing.

Yes, you need to provide a valid reason like - under small own accident caused meter reading damage or any other reason. Contact your insurance company and provide them reason and take bike to nearest service center after approval came from insurance company. The charges may need 50:50 basis since bike is 10 years old.
