✨ Fleas Bugging You? Download Our Free Guide to Flea Prevention & Treatment ➡ floppycats.co/flea I am so very grateful to Dr. Judy of Dr. Judy Morgan's Naturally Healthy Pets for letting me interview her about how to naturally get rid of and prevent fleas inside and outside your home as well as inside and outside of your cats! Dr. Judy's Guide to Fleas, Ticks & Heartworms (eBook): floppycats.co/drjudyfleaebook Dr. Judy's Book: Raising Naturally Healthy Pets: A Guide to Helping Your Pets Live Longer geni.us/drjudybook Flea Products on Dr. Judy Morgan's Website: floppycats.co/drjudyflea What Dr. Judy Morgan says about garlic and cats - facebook.com/watch/live/?ref=watch_permalink&v=3247435168855654 and facebook.com/JudyMorganDVM/posts/pfbid02UJwdx82CtWQJhcg3y61h63FJ1V5XFMEEz92DdKP78T61dWDUmNXk1GD16ipFXzxLl How I do garlic pills for my cats: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqDCq56pac1gjZo How I put down salt and baking soda: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGG1fn6lfrx5bMU Studies that Dr. Judy References: www.aspcapro.org/sites/default/files/c-vetm0805_562-566.pdf Shows that more than 5 gm/kg of body weight needs to be consumed (about a teaspoon per 2.2 pounds of cat, so an 11-pound cat needs to eat 5 teaspoons of garlic for it to be toxic. Article showing toxicity in dogs: www.researchgate.net/publication/341478976_Beynen_AC_2020_Garlic_oil_in_dog_food#:~:text=At%20a%20conservative%20estimate%2C%20based%20on%20four%20studies%2C,toxic%20only%20at%20extremely%20high%20doses%20%28Note%206%29. They would need to eat the equivalent of .54% of their body weight for it to be toxic, so an 11-pound dog needs to eat 9.5 ounces of garlic to be toxic! As from five days after daily oral administration of a garlic extract, dogs had deformed red blood cells associated with anemia. The garlic dose was excessive. It was equivalent to feeding a dry food with 11% whole-garlic powder. Another equivalence is a 20-kg dog ingesting 8 garlic cloves per day. At very high garlic intakes, the herb’s organosulfur compounds can damage red blood cells. At a conservative estimate, based on four studies, garlic contents up to 1% in complete dry food do not induce visible clinical signs in dogs. One of those studies also showed that a dietary garlic level of 0.54% did not affect red blood cells. Garlic is often listed as a toxin for dogs, but it is toxic only at extremely high doses.

The Article you've cited gives that ratio for onions, not garlic. And it also says that garlic is about 5 times as toxic, so im concerned for my 6 lb cat :(

@@Floppycats the article that gave the ratio about onions instead of garlic was the first one you have posted under "studies that dr judy references" in this comment. And for what helped me feel better, i just watched the video from her facebook...although i can't see the link here anymore. perhaps it was on another video of yours that i had looked at.

This was informative. I have about 2k trees on 2 acres; lots of brush too. 1 dog & 1 cat. I do wish you wouldn't skirt around the issue & you'd just tell us exactly how much garlic to feed a cat & a dog, per pound.

Dr. Judy is an incredible resource - so glad she's online and teaching us all. There are beneficial nematodes that go after adult fleas and then ones that go after flea larvae. So you want to get the mixture, I think. But someone on a FB Group last night told me that they bought the ones that Dr. Judy sells - Flea Destroyer - amzn.to/4bpbLaW and they're working great. I have a few videos on my channel about it kzbin.info?search_query=nematodes+floppycats. And also talk about it in my free fleas series - floppycats.co/flea

How long dose the powder take to work? I’ve been using it and the fleas don’t seem bothered so far. I put it all over my cat and around the skirting boards about 3 days ago. I flea combed my cat this morning and the fleas are jumping around happy as anything.

EEK - you have the Buck Mountain Parasite Dust? Seems like they might need something stronger. And when you have an infestation you have to do more than one thing - first and foremost, you have to commit to vacuuming and getting rid of the vacuum bag EVERY SINGLE DAY for 2 months at least. It sucks. And then you'll need to treat the cats with something stronger - like garlic or a kitty safe essential oil floppycats.co/kittyboost - see the ones one Dr. Judy's website. And wash everything the cats have been on - and keep washing everything. When I have an infestation - I do 2-3 loads of laundry a day. Also, if you can spray your yard, that'll help too. I like Tick Killz - geni.us/tickkillz

So, HOW MUCH GARLIC FOR CATS?I need help. I believe this flea situation occured from rodents outside. We didn't have fleas before moving in. And it wasn't until a few months of warm weather. I have tried everything. Mentally exhausting. RAIN ?? What to use when weather is bad? And wood floors? I tried Frontline plus and it didnt help my cat.
