What kind of paper are you using? I really love these pens but I cannot figure out how to use them: I find that if used directly from the brush they will make the paper pill almost immediately, if layered in any way (merely going over the same spot twice makes even watercolour paper pill).The colourless blender also makes the paper pill. Super frustrated. Have been using Fabriano Studio Artists Watercolour Paper Cold Pressed 280g paper. Any suggestions? (thank you!)

Great question! I have recently been using these on Aquabord (By Ampersand). That way, the surface does not pill, tear or buckle. It's really quite a dreamy combo and if you like layering/glazing then I highly recommend it. I understand that frustration tho, as these shouldn't theoretically NEED a professional-grade surface to use them with. When I do use these brush pens on watercolor paper, I use hot press, 140lb. Even then, the paper will pill, I just let the area fully dry, and gently wipe the shedding off! I hope this helps~
