That’s neat sowing poppy seeds in the snow! Your flowers were beautiful!! Looks so effortless unlike putting the shed together. The floor turned out nice. My husband used to build pole sheds now he and my sons manufacture the metal for sheds. Lots of she’d builders in our area they would bring you a garden shed ready to go.

It's hard to believe that the poppies would grow the way they did. I saw you sprinkle the seeds and voila! God is so good! Thank You for sharing this video and of course the music running through was perfect. Continued Blessings!

The kids are sledding down the septic hill - ha I love it. Best part of the whole video! Also the snow and flowers to come in spring are both beautiful. - Sandy

This was so wonderful! Both the winter and the flashbacks to summer. I've never sown poppy seed in winter snow but I am going for it now!

Omg, Angela! We also bought a similar metal shed, attempted assembly, and went to the Home Depot and ordered a wooden assembled one! My “Joel” wasn’t as patient as yours with the 15,000 parts. 😂. As always your gardens are inspiring! Thank you💕

So beautiful! It’s always amazing to me how at the end of the garden/hot season, I wonder how I will ever want to go through it all again. Yet, here I am planning out new spaces for the coming year and so excited I can hardly stand it. You always inspire and encourage me. Thank you for the courage it takes to share parts of your life with us all. I listen to every Homemaker Chic episode and am truly a better person because of ‘knowing’ you!

This is so perfectly timed! Just yesterday, we broke out the seed catalogs and started "existing seeds inventory" and order lists. I have ALWAYS struggled to grow poppies. I've never seen this technique anywhere, so darned if I'm not putting in an order of poppy seeds to sprinkle in the snow!! Maybe I'm just being too precious with it- so thanks for the polar opposite way of thinking!! (Btw, my hubs got stuck in Detroit in the last storm, and had to hire a car and drive home to the Adirondacks) Big hugs! Stay warm!

I sprinkle my poppy, larkspur and and Cornflower seed directly on the ground, in a cleared patch, in the same manner . I did it last week, and today, we actually got snow which nicely blanketed the patches. Kind of nice, because we rarely get any snow.
@DLynne22211 ай бұрын
We didn't get any snow this time with this arctic blast, though we did get the low temps. I planted poppy seeds a few weeks ago, and again two weeks ago, though not in snow, and I may plant more before winter is over. We don't get much snow here in TX, but I think seeding in snow is a great idea! I did last year in a very brief snow, and now I don't think about snow without thinking, hey this is an opportunity to plant poppy seeds! Thanks for the reminder too. I adore your garden and love that you share your methods for achieving it. Thank you!!
@ParisienneFarmgirl11 ай бұрын
Thank you! What kind do you grow?
@DLynne22211 ай бұрын
@@ParisienneFarmgirl I sow several kinds, but so far it's the red corn or Flanders poppies that have done the best. They're beautiful and look wonderful with the Larkspur, and with all the other wildflowers.

I have these color poppies, though the friend who shared them with me years ago, called them oriental poppies! I’m going to give this method so sowing a try! I love these flowers!

I’m in So. Calif. (West Los Angeles). I want to scatter Poppy seeds too!! I want yours! Something other than the small orange California Poppies that grow “wild” except for in my garden for some reason. I’m only just now trimming back my roses, missing the December date. But, my pink Camilla’s are finally blooming. Must be all the rain we had here. You’re always so inspiring. 💖

Angela! I'm laughing at this! I have a shed that is supposed to be mine AND my husband has put all his stuff in it AND left the door open and snow was everywhere! I have a China cabinet in mine filled with Terra cotta pots. We need to find a chandelier in October for it!

We got a lot of snow the last couple of days across the lake from you, in the Grand Rapids area. Last year I sprinkled poppy seeds in the snow and got a few plants. I’ll have to do it again! Like your garden. Have been to Door county once!

What I noticed when you were planting your poppies is how beautiful your hair looked. Door county looks so beautiful in the summer. The lake so blue, the grass and trees so green.

Do you have a recommended source for poppy seeds? Are those also known as ‘breadseed poppies’? I grew a pretty salmon pink frizzle poppy last year and now I’m hooked!!! I saved some seed but lost the majority to a hungry mouse … so sad! Thanks for sharing your lovely gardening adventures!
