I am the guy behind the Jeskai Oculus deck. It's nice to bump casually into it 😂 ty for bringing it in! I have tried Kiora in multiples ways but it turns out that she is sided out every time because of her strong graveyard interaction and also because she dies really fast and makes no real card advantage (unlike Steamcore Scholar which is also evasive). The biggest task right now is to figure out how to beat Esper Pixie (Shore Up is already out because of Nowhere to run). Any suggestions? TY!

thanks for sharing the list. Have you tried Proft's editic memory at all in the list, seems like it would be good. Pixie is a tough list to combat against since they can bounce a lot of your stuff. Cards I've seen people bring in are things like pest control or cards like wilt leaf liege since it gets free casted off discard. Temporary lockdown seems iffy against bounce since you reset their ETBs. Maybe just a condition sweeper like split up or brotherhoods end. You could also just max on ETB value creatures that don't die to no where to run.

Monastery Mentor? Go wide and can prowess out of Nowhere to Run range. Temporary Lockdown shuts down most of their value.

@ClavisRa ty for the tip! Monastery mentor is worth testing but I am afraid there is not enough cheap spells to justify it (no cheap draw spells like Opt, only spells that need targets, which is not great for it)

It turns out the match-up vs Esper pixie is not that bad (turn 1/2 Oculus after their Hopeless Nightmare is pretty strong). Things get sketchy after sideboarding if they find a RIP. In the end I felt confortable with siding in more value cards and dealing with their threats with spot removals (Split Up doesn't quite do the job and 2 white mana are pretty intensive for the deck). I did a good 6 on the MGC with a slightly different list (lost 1-2 vs dimir on the last one with unfortunate draws). The deck is solid and definitely worth a try!

Hi Joe, how do you side with your RG list?, midrange is a lot of times very difficult. Happy New Year

Hey midrange can be pretty broad in terms of decks. While some overlap, the cards coming in would differ. For example I’d consider pyroclasm against dimir midrange but want pawpatch vs Golgari Demons/mid. Most games I’d consider doing a swap of nemesis for forge since heavy removal. I’m going to try to do as many metagame challenges this weekend and from there I will put together a brainstorm of a sb guide. I’m not 100% on my SB yet, want to run more games

So when I import a deck like the gruul delirium for instance, why does the deck get all whited out in the deck builder so I can't see the cards or the amount of them?

Try exiting out the client as it seems like a visual bug. If not may need to check for update or fresh install

How would you say boros burn is positoned in the current meta?

Boros burn can struggle at times with all the incidental lifegain. The mouse package + prowessy burn could be reasonable but you need to have sustained, reoccurring damage, not just burn spells
