Not far away from me, nice find. Some parts of it reminded me of that Jurrasic climb in Sam Roi Yot National park with all that horrible sharp rock. I'll give this a go sometime.

It’s hard in places and requires decent mobility but people can stick to the lower levels if they find it difficult
@JBWanders732 жыл бұрын
I'd almost forgotten about this, Karl. They say that it's only mad dogs and Englishmen who go out in the midday sun, and I didn't see any mad dogs! At first, I thought it would be a little easy and lame but it certainly didn't turn out that way; it was actually quite challenging and really rewarding in that there were multiple views. I would do this one again 100% mate but earlier in the day.

I know you guys are super humpers with experience and I hope to join you soon. When I do these hikes, I will be taking 720mg of creatine monohydrate, and one or two custom blended electrolyte tablets prior to the ascent, and the same upon descent. I will also add a Gu Energy Gel at the beginning, and as needed during ascent. If my clothes are saturated at the summit, I would add a 99mg potassium tablet as well. You would be amazed at what these electrolytes and gels could do for you, especially at our age. Peace brothers.
@karlsthailand Жыл бұрын
We have a really good pre-made electrolyte available here called Pocari Sweat, it’s definitely a class above Gatorade lol. I do find a litre or so of Pocari is enough to wipe out any post hike cramps I might get. I used to make my own electrolyte drink from Salt (Sodium Chloride) and Potassium Chloride with maybe a little Magnesium too but getting the raw ingredients here got too hard during the lockdowns. As for energy….virtually any carb source works for me but fruit does come with advantages of extra nutrients.
@marchanson711 Жыл бұрын
@@karlsthailand Mate thanks for the tip on Pocari. They have it here in the states. I just ordered a one pound sack (about half a Kilo) for $13.50 USD (459 Baht) and will mix with litre bottles as needed. Sports nutrition is the key to high intensity. Look forward to massive hikes in Thailand. Cheers.

The ROCKY S2V COMPOSITE TOE TACTICAL MILITARY BOOT Style RKC089 may be of use to you. I see a lot of water crossings and this boot pumps out the water if your wearing a good wool sock. I am going to get a pair for Thailand. This is the Armies jungle boot.
@karlsthailand Жыл бұрын
@@marchanson711It’s 30 Baht (1$) here for 500 mil so mixing your own might be the way to go. Failing that there are no shortages of coconuts here and coconut water with a little salt is another excellent electrolyte
