Should we give up flying for the sake of the climate? Everything we do, from the food we eat, products we buy to the way we travel, releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and so has an impact on the planet’s climate. But some activities have a far greater impact than others. Around 2.4% of global CO2 emissions come from aviation. Together with other gases and the water vapour trails produced by aircraft, the industry is responsible for around 5% of global warming. At first glance, that might not seem like very big contribution. Except, only a very small percentage of the world flies. therefore, flying has a very big impact on your personal eco print. Don't fly ! Ecological sustainable travels are a lie. There should not be tourism as a reason to protect nature.

Flying actually releases less co2 per person than a car or bus does. Cars make up 40% of co2 emissions in the transportation sector and they are less efficient and effective than planes

@@TheBSideDJ no, I actually did read it. Your contention is to reduce you personal footprint by not flying; however, I argued that flying is not as bad as it seems. I also touched on the fact that flying has a lower footprint per person than cars or most other modes of transportation. Flying also has the added benefit of being able to fly vast distances with hundreds of people on board. So no, you're wrong.

@@TheBSideDJ I am probably more of an environmentalist than you are, I am just more practical.
