What a lovely village. The buildings are quite beautiful. The most striking thing to me is the quality of the stone walls around the properties. I don't think I have ever seen so many in one village. Fantastic craftsmanship.

I could have chosen any of Kevin's videos to make my latest comment. I have chosen this one because it portrays to me a true appreciation of the countryside. No commentary, no dogs, or worse, drones, are used, just a genuine appreciation of the peace and beauty of village life, at the start of another cold, but bright and clear day. I travel around 1000 miles a week, mostly within Kevin's territory but, I have not, and could not see a fraction of what Kevin shares in his videos. I watch your videos, Kevin, to relax, and appreciate your amazingly atmospheric work. Thank you.!

Somerford Keynes is a very pretty village with beautiful, large houses. Everything is clean and tidy; it is very relaxing to walk in its streets. We hear the birds sing the day starts slowly. Thank you for this pleasant walk 😀😀😀😀😀

Lovely video. I spent a month housesitting in an English village a few years back and I loved nothing better than early morning walks accompanied by birdsong. Am also fond of old churches and cemeteries. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.

It wasn't until the woman walked out of the garden wall to retrieve the trash bin that I fully understood the emence size of the houses. Quite a surprising! 🇺🇸

Is that church tower "Saxon"? Pre-dating 1066? Cheers.

Great question. I wasn't sure of the answer myself but this is what I found : 'By AD 695 the monks had replaced that timber church with a stone building, making it among the oldest stone churches in the county. The north doorway from that early Saxon building still survives. Around AD 750 the monks erected a timber bell turret. This was torn down in 1708 and the present stone tower built in 1715.' I always put some information in the description.

What you have to remember is here in England is that a LOT of buildings are 100s of years old - they pre-date the road (as in roads for car use) by quite some time. These would have just been stone cobbled walkways and only horse access would have been needed (privacy is a very much modern concern)
