I have been gardening for 50+ years. I have watched the personality of those who garden both living now, and those passed on. I cannot escape the thought that the garden reveals the soul of the person within. A beautiful soul craves and creates beautiful surroundings, beautiful sights, beautiful sounds, beautiful fragrances. Thank you all for sharing with the world. Ralph in Ohio

All the people interviewed were so lovely. Mr. Townsend had such a sweet spirit about him, encouraging young people to garden. As this was filmed in 1995, it makes me sad to think most of these people are probably gone from this earth and their beloved gardens 😞. Hoping they have a celestial plot or two somewhere 😇

I live in Brisbane Australia which has wonderful flora and fauna . It is quite loud in comparison to England's softer sounds and colours. Most birds here are extremely noisy. I do miss the sounds and scents of fresh mown grass and the seasonal changes .Watching these sorts of videos still makes me homesick , even after almost fifty years.

Formality - at least, where gardens are concerned - is not OUR style. We English tend to be a Hobbity sort of folk, really, and so prefer the Cosy and the Comfortable and the Natural to the Clinical and the Geometric and the Contrived.
