In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I purchased and installed uhd 94sv and Lake Card on my Seahawk. I’m in SF Bay Area. Boat is stored at marina in Antioch,Ca. Most of my fishing is west Delta area. I towed to SF bay for halibut. Chart plotter was not showing any depth numbers on the maps. Had to turn off Garmin. Remove Lake Card. Restart Garmin map depth numbers were indicating depth. Question is, is there anyway to select to select installed maps or card? Do I need to remove Lake Card when on the coast?

From Garmin's Instructions: Setting the Keel Offset You can enter a keel offset to compensate the water depth reading for the transducer installation location. This allows you to view the depth of the water below the keel or the true depth of the water, depending on your needs. If you want to know the water depth below the keel or the lowest point of your boat and the transducer is installed at the water line or anywhere above the end of the keel, measure the distance from the transducer location to the keel of the boat. If you want to know the true water depth and the transducer is installed below the water line, measure the distance from the bottom of the transducer up to the water line. NOTE: This option is only available when you have valid depth data. Measure the distance: If the transducer is installed at the water line Callout number one or anywhere above the end of the keel, measure the distance from the transducer location to the keel of the boat. Enter this value as a positive number. If the transducer is installed at the bottom of the keel Callout number two and you want to know the true depth of the water, measure the distance from the transducer to the water line. Enter this value in as a negative number. Keel offset drawing with callouts Complete an action: If the transducer is connected to the chartplotter or a sonar module, select Settings > My Vessel > Keel Offset. If the transducer is connected to the NMEA 2000® network, select Settings > Communications > NMEA 2000 Setup > Device List, select the transducer, and select Review > Keel Offset. Select Plus symbol if the transducer is installed at the water line, or select Minus symbol if the transducer is installed at the bottom of the keel.

I have the same unit. I can make wavepoints, but they don't show up on my maps. My wavepoints are saved. What am I doing wrong?

Your not doing anything wrong, you just don't have that feature turned on. First get on the chart screen. Then click the menu. Look for the Layers tab and click it. Then look for user data and click it. You will see an option for waypoint display. Make sure you click it and a little green bar will appear on the tab. Your waypoints will now show on the chart.

You need to go to the Home screen then Settings and look for the simulator option and turn it off there. It may have a different software version that only shows a demo mode. If so turn that to off. Still unable to? then call 1-800-800-1020 when in front of the unit and a Garmin tech can walk you through it.

Absolutely. You want to make sure you have the right charts loaded to get maximum detail. You can always pull coordinates for the route from paper charts as well.

Because they do not offer an AC adapter you will need to use the power cord (make sure you have it fused and connect it to a 12 volt battery.

It seems something is changed in your settings. if you are in the US try calling the tech line when you are in front of the unit and they can walk you through resetting it. The number is 800 800 1020.

Is there anyway to save waypoints if you default a 94sv UHD2 to factory. Setting? Oh yeh.. why doesn't Garmin tell you you need a mini SD card to download Active Captain before you use it? Seems misleading.

You can use a trail to follow your path back to where you started. To activate tracks do the following: From a chart, select MENU > Layers > User Data > Tracks. Select the tracks to display. A trailing line on the chart indicates your track.
