@@DiscoverDoubleBass Wow 😲 I want a German Bass, I want check those strings. Before I forget, you should do a video with John Clayton and more symphony orchestra bassists from Chicago, London, New York. I find symphony orchestra bassists interesting, thoses musicians are the best bassists in the world 🌎🌍. I went to the symphony orchestra here in Chicago few times when I was younger.

@@DiscoverDoubleBass Is Marc Johnson Spircore Weich Medium or Heavy or light gage? I am guessing Medium?? My 3/4 plywood Double Upright Bass is a Kluson MGF Company in Chicago. I bought in the 1989 or 1990 for $200 American dollars from a older man who bought that bass in the 1939 or 1940 he told me. Looked company up and found the company made orchestra instruments from 1925 - 1981 , the company closed it's doors moved Florida were the company is today!! What is your advice on maintenance and storage for a older bass like mine? Another video you can do!! On maintenance and storage for your bass.

@@jamesrichardson3322 I think nowadays Spriocore Weich means light weight gauge, which are more flexible and lighter than Mediums. Weich have the purple silks at the peg end, and red silks at the tailpiece (I'm not sure if this was always the case, as approx 15 years ago, I'd been lingering under the impression Weiss did indeed refer to medium). Said that, I find Weich do 'feel' like a medium string, comparable to say Helicore Orchestras or even Corelli TXs. Gollihur has a good explanation of all this in their string guide.

@@Pensivata 😫 I had helicore orchestra strings on my bass , wasn't happy with them. They were not for me!! I got Spricore strings for my bass, Ray Brown used the same strings.
