Our girl, Catherine! Yes, to raised beds in the front garden! Am I the only one who misses your crazy giant sunflowers? I loved seeing them tower over you last year. Do you think they'll take in your front garden? Loads of love from South Africa 🇿🇦

Once spent, I roll the daffodil and tulip leaves down and tie them with string and let them die back naturally. It's good for the bulbs to get all that energy for next year's flowering. This technique looks cute when the leaves are all curled under and tied.

When you described the corner bed, I thought the corner was going to be three sleepers and then the long one could be two! Then you're making it a feature and you can always expand to having another long bed on the other side ❤

I thought so too. I imagined just keeping the corner bed and having a long one on each side. Adding a sleeper to make the corner bed taller.

I love watching your garden progress. Isn't it amazing to be out in the fresh air? Nature's anti-depressant😉 I've gardened for FIVE decades and every year I've told myself that 'next year' will be the year I actually get to just sit in the garden instead of continually working in it... but as most gardeners will tell you, a walk around the garden turns into a bit of dead-heading, which leads to cutting back, then onto tying in, feeding, etc etc etc🤣🤣 if there's one positive outcome to now having a chronic illness it's this...on the days I'm unable to actually do any gardening, I have no choice but to just sit with a cuppa outdoors and it's just as uplifting, especially with pen and paper in hand...for future project ideas!!😅😂

I have been inspired by you and your gardening. I have to be very careful because I live in Georgia, USA which is in southern USA and I am very badly affected by the heat. So, out in the morning very early to tend to things. At this point, I have a view of flowers from every window in the back of my house. Next year it will be colorful shrubs and foliage plants out the front window views. Never thought I'd actually do this..!

Hello from the northeast USA! I am just getting started with planting here. Lots of perennials are doing great. I also lost a cat last Fall. Gracie, she was 25 and always lived outside by her own choice. She came inside during Winter in the late years. I have a small bed that is Gracie's garden and I love it. Especially now. She napped in it during the day. I love your stone cats and I am now on the lookout for a stone Grace to put in her garden. Keep up the great work and go with your gut!

In the front garden, could you leave in the corner sleeper, and take every thing out but the rose. Have that seperate? have the new bed across the wall incorparating the corner sleeper too? If that makes sence? I am loving this year, normally we get into spring then we get a random frost that kills back all the new growth. But this year we haven't had that so all the gardens are looking amazing. Last year i got a grand total of 3 peaches on my peach tree. This year it is loaded. Planted 2 different clematis 's to grow up through my Banksi rose, and the bigger one flowered today. It looks so beautiful. Wish you all could see. Happy gardening to all. Xx

Happy Mothers Day Dainty Diary Friends! Catherine..every garden video I am more & more envious of how beautiful your borders are filling in. My sister & I visited a garden center yesterday, May 13th...everything was beautiful. We didn't buy, since in Northern Michigan just starting to warm up & hopefully out of freezing nights, or so forecast indicates. This year is sooo late for everything. 2 years ago we bought early & for 2 weeks every night I was pulling in multiple hanging baskets & pots because we had frost at night.. This year, My daffodils just stretched their leave out. I may have blooms & bulbs in July.😂 Everything out is breaking out too, hostas only maybe 2 inches out of the ground. Nonetheless. Thank you for sharing. To all Mommas; whether human, fur, feather, aquatic or scale, have a great day.

I watched Gardeners World this week and was surprised they had such few flowers in the Malvern show cuz it’s been so cold and rainy. Here in Michigan everything has gone poof from dead and brown to jungle.

This week I got 3 raised beds made taking inspiration from yours 😊 they took a while to fill 💪🏻 but look brilliant! Do you have summer bulbs planted in yours or what do you intend to do with them over the summer? X

I am so envious of your rich dark soil! I'm from Central Illinois in the US and our soil is mostly clay. Very hard to dig into for planting

Mulching each year with bark helps to condition clay soil, some parts of my soil are heavy clay, the side corner in the back, and mulching helps x
