Ox, as a suggestion after you are done with the companion quest for Kiera you should try to buy a powerfist from the merchant Fenning so you can give it to the companion who is a boxer called Mad Jack from Pilgrim Pub in Trafalgar Square when you eventually choose to add him to your party .

To prevent this kind of thing (1:08:37), turn off dialog camera (Main Menu -> Display -> Dialog Cam -> OFF) so you can move your camera (and your body) freely during conversations. I was able to look up at the microphone and see the dialog box because I had dialog cam off. This also prevents NPCs obstructing you during conversations (3:53). With dialog cam off, you can move your body during conversations; you can walk close to the NPC you're talking to so that other NPCs can't squeeze through between you.

The Bethlem hospital is related to a side quest. You need to finish the "Scylla" quest for Thameshaven before getting it. Btw, there are often conflicting names for locations. This hospital is named "Bethlem Museum of the Mind" on the door (52:57), but it's called "Bethlem Royal Hospital" on the Pip-Boy map. Sometimes, the big on-screen pop-up that you see when you discover a location shows yet another different name.
@PCGamingGoodies10 күн бұрын
Btw, coming to this location early will not break the quest. I came here early too, and didn't break my game. Most locations are "safe" to explore early. But sadly, a few aren't; and I can't tell you where because that would be spoilers. You just need to save often.

I love Fallout London, but I have found that it's sometimes not obvious where you need to go. Even if you can see the quest marker inside a Pindar or cave or building or whatever, it's often not obvious how to get to it--it just kind of floats there "inside" a wall, often above or below you, but you can't see how to get to it. This can also be a problem outside, as shown in this episode when Ox went for a walk north, trying to find out how to get around the first lava pit and missing the little cable car that takes you across it. I got frustrated enough to put a perk point into VANS, which is a perk I rarely use in FO4 (I think I used it in my first playthough, then decided it was a waste of a perk point). In FOL, though, VANS can be really, really good--it can tell you HOW to get to that elusive quest marker and minimize frustration. I only wish there was a way of toggling it on and off, since I don't need it all the time (without using console commands, that is). Unless I've missed something, you can't just switch VANS off and on again at will, it's always on once you've got it.
@PCGamingGoodies8 күн бұрын
VANS simply shows how to reach a quest marker, but the quest marker is often incorrectly placed by the game, as many players of Creation games know. The Creation engine divides areas into "cells," and each cell has no "awareness" of the other cells, often resulting in funky placements of quest markers. This exists even in the latest Creation game, Starfield. Because of this, VANS and other features related to quest marks are often useless.
@DGLaderoute8 күн бұрын
@@PCGamingGoodies I've had pretty good results with VANS so far. It has made some of the quests in FOL a LOT easier and more enjoyable. Now, I've probably got my best use of it in situations where the quest marker is nearby, but there's no obvious way to get to it--for example, when you're trying to find and help the Ferryman early on, VANS made my life MUCH easier. And for more distant quest markers, they're usually outside and I don't need VANS to point the way. Sure, there are probably situations where it won't work very well, but I've certainly got no complaints about it in FOL (again, in regular FO4, I never needed it and think it's probably a waste of a perk point). In FOL, though, some of the location design is--complicated, and VANS has made my life much easier.

You probably know this already from years of making Fallout 4 videos: your companion's affinity increases automatically as time passes even without likes. From my observation, it increases by 1 every 1.5 minutes (90 seconds) or so without likes. Companions have new dialog when affinity reaches 250, 500, 750, and 1000 (max). Companions start their personal quests at 750, except one, who starts it at 1000. You can use the console command "getav ca_affinity" (no quotes) to check the affinity value. For instance, if it's 600, that means you have to spend another 100 minutes to get another 150 affinity (100 x 1.5) in order to reach 750. Sleeping and waiting won't work. You have to spend time in real-time with your companion. Each "like" from your companion adds 15 affinity, essentially saving you 22 minutes (15 x 1.5) of time you need to spend with the companion. A "dislike" subtracts 15 affinity. For some reason, all companions except Archie "like" it when you steal owned (red) items. That is the only sure-fire way to get likes that I know. For quest-related and dialog-related likes and dislikes, there isn't complete info on the Internet, yet. A lot of info is lacking because I suspect not too many people play Fallout London -- it's not on consoles, it's tricky to install and run, and there's zero marketing for it.
@PCGamingGoodies9 күн бұрын
One quest-related "like" I know is in a political side quest where you vote for a prime minister. Your companion may like or dislike whom you vote for. Some things are just true in whatever universe you are in.

@DGLaderoute9 күн бұрын
Incidentally, since you'll probably end up encountering this in your next video, to get to Croydon you have to build two bridges. The second one requires a "structural beam" or some such thing. There is one nearby when the game tells you that, but I never had a quest marker or anything show it so I ended up hunting around for a while before I stumbled on it. If memory servers, you have to backtrack a little to find it. Just putting that out there in case you end up futzing around trying to find the damned thing.
@PCGamingGoodies8 күн бұрын
My experience was that I had to practically stand next to the structural beam before the quest marker correctly pointed to the structural beam; otherwise it pointed somewhere else. This is another Creation engine quirk that causes incorrect placements of quest markers, which players of Bethesda games are all too familiar with.

@PCGamingGoodies10 күн бұрын
You can earn more caps by selling ammo (which he does collect) than pre-war money. Ammo is weightless too, and is far more abundant than pre-war money. And you likely don't use every ammo type, so you can sell the ones you don't use. You can accumulate thousands and thousands of certain ammo that way. You can clean up every vendor you meet by selling just a few hundred of the ammo you don't use at 1 cap apiece.

It's not filler. He is trying the get signatures from the leaders of the 4 boroughs, which is part of what the main questline requires you to do. Expect several more episodes like this. So far he's only got one signature, from the Camden leader, the Cyberfox lady. There are 3 more boroughs to go to, many NPCs to talk to, and many needs to cater to.

I know what you are saying - and the Brickton/Croydon area just seems exhausting - and I don't know if he's actually going inside the Maze! I only got in by no-clipping - and it wasn't much fun once I'd got in. I'm on my second playthrough, and I didn't even bother with a lot of this area - just did what Roach and Lloyd wanted me to do, and got out again. I didn't bother with exploration. Same in the Greenwich Glowing Sea! Just do the quest and get out. But I'm glad Ox does it - he can show me stuff I will have missed. And if it gets dull, or he's reading stuff I've already read, then I will skip ahead.
@PCGamingGoodies9 күн бұрын
@ZachariahJ Some of the exploration may be optional and unrelated to the main quest, but it gives you some additional pleasure since many of these locations exist in real life. It's a bit of tourism, if you will, and I always look forward to this aspect in a video game: seeing all the Boston landmarks in Fallout 4, all the ancient Greece landmarks in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, etc. Crystal Palace Maze is a real-life tourist attraction, as is Buckingham Palace, British Museum, House of Commons, Wimbledon Tennis Museum, etc., all of which you'll find in this game. In Greenwich, be sure to find the place that keeps the "Greenwich time."
@ZachariahJ9 күн бұрын
@ Well, I'm on my 7 day wait, so I'm doing a few quests I never managed on my first playthrough. Right now, I've found the missing Tommies, but getting back out again is a nightmare. Got to try and memorise the path - I've died several times already. I also did the Cutethulu mission, which I hadn't done the first time, and that was fun. But I couldn't find a way into the Crystal Palace, and I had to no-clip into the maze, because I couldn't find the key, or the entrance. I've tried doing the German sub one, but I can't speak to Kant, because one of the officers stands in the way, so the convo is borked - had to no-clip out of the damn boat! I'm not going back. In should just add that I am absolutely obsessed with this game. When it is over, I will be very sad. I've enjoyed my second playthrough even more than the first. I'm from the Black Country in the UK, and my grandparents talked just like Seb Gaunt! (But without the swearing). It's great hearing UK accents, and seeing familiar landmarks. And many references to UK pop culture.
@PCGamingGoodies9 күн бұрын
@ZachariahJ Mazes are a cliche in video games, as we know. But I forgive them here because it's a notable real-life landmark. In terms of gameplay, this is not the most enjoyable maze I've seen. It's dark everywhere (for some reason this whole place is in perpetual nighttime), and it looks the same everywhere, so you are basically blind. You only have your compass to rely on. And the reward is not that great: a lowly energy gun and an extra location (Crystal Palace Mall) with not much lore or intrigue. This whole place is just a bit of tourism, as I said.
