Since there is no official explanation from Dreamcatcher company about the story, everyone imagines their own story. My opinion is that You and I is a story that takes place after Good Night. The Spider Queen tracked down the Dreamcatcher members who ran away from the hotel and succeeded in capturing Yoohyeon. The lyrics of You and I seem to me to mean that the Spider Queen is seducing Yoohyeon's spirit. So the members tried to rescue Yoohyeon, but failed. I think Yoohyeon is the villain in What (Next Song).

This.... You and I makes no sense following Fly High and being before Chase. I simply put it up to follow the Yoohyeon and what is the group's current state. Fly High, they're all trapped and still are in Chase Me so how would they be out in You and I unless it's after they leave in Good Night. Yoohyeon is separated in You and I so how would she be back together with the group in Chase Me. You and I --> What continues Yoohyeon separated.

Fly High and You and I are both set 100 years ago with alive human girls. Chase Me and Good Night are both set in modern times with deaded spirits. Putting You and I after Good Night means you have to turn them from spirits back into living humans and time travel them 100 years to the past AND how did they turn from humans to spirits anyway?? Much more believable to say (Fly High) Yoohyeon burned the spider, (You and I) the spider queen cursed Yoohyeon in revenge, members tried to save her with magic from the book and got cursed too, (Chase Me) 100 years later they are bored spirits when Chase Me guy shows up.

The lore can be A LOT. There are things in the MVs that I still catch occassionally, despite seeing them dozens of times. I wouldnt worry about catching it all on first listen, its pretty much impossible unless youre going frame by frame. I've also seen plenty of reactos do lyric video, followed by the MV as a way to focus on music first and visuals second and thats perfectly fine. You wont see any Insomnia complain about that lol. All their intros are so good. They're always so Cinematic. You and I is another evolution of their sound (which never stops evolving) and how it ads some new elements while still feeling very Dreamcatcher. Which a Star is one of my least favorite DC songs, but thats kinda like saying I like cheese pizza less than Pepperoni pizza, I still really like it and never skip it. Mayday is one of my favorite early bsides. Its so freaking good. The dynamincs in DCs music are honestly top tier. Its what makes all of the parts of their songs hit so well. Even the slow parts have impact because of how they weave them into the songs. Scar was written by Dami and is fantastic. I really like the call and response theoughout the song. I think the chaotic nature of scar reflects the internal tourmoil of the singer. Youre definitely right about all of the songs being connected, despite having, at times, vastly different sounds. I've seen some reactors, who are way better at interpreting lyrics than I, be able to tie all the songs together thematically and it makes perfect sense. The idea of doing the title tracks back-to-back is a good idea if you're wanting to dig into the lore more. Also, if you're going to do the Dodging Disbandment video, you should probably wait until after Deja Vu as that's where the video covers up to. It's not the best video for learning about the group and the members so much as it's a deep dive on the history of the group and the hardships and struggles they faced in the industry. It's a great video though so I definitely recommend checking it out. Alone in the City is next with the title track What. Looking forward to it.

Thank you for the reassurance that it’s okay if I’m unable to catch it all 😂 because seriously, even while I’m reading the other theories, I still feel so lost! Even the timelines and all that. With what you said, about other reactors going thru the music first before the visuals, I’m thinking if I should do that too… or like maybe after this series? I feel like the MVs and the lore need a separate headspace because it can be overwhelming (but I’m not complaining cuz I love these things! Haha). I liked Mayday a lot! 😊 If you were to recommend a vid that I should watch to get to know the members more, what would it be? I feel like the reason I’m also lost in terms of the lore, is because I don’t know the members very well yet so I don’t know what’s happening to who in the MVs. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! ☺️

@@sassjastansIt really can be a lot. In You and I there's a scene that I didn't catch the significance of until I'd seen the MV at least 50 times. If you go back and look at the final scene with Yoohyeon on her knees in front of the stone ring where the portal was, you'll notice that the stone ring looks an awful lot like a magnifying glass and it's focusing moonlight on her. This is an inverse or mirror of what she did to the spider in Fly High. Her punishment mirrored her crime, in a sense. As for ways to learn about them more, that's going to be guides and variety content. The best guide out right now that's semi up-to-date is "An Extensive Guide to Dreamcatcher 2023" by Dreamer. It's 55 minutes but it's the most comprehensive way to get information on some history, music, members, and the group all at once. This is what I typically recommend as the starting place. After that, the YT channel Insomnicsy has an extensive collection of fan edits that are extremely well done and subbed. Kit, the lady who runs the channel, also does highlight edits for any lives or events that DC participates in with subs as well. There is a series on her channel called the "This is _______ Series" that's in its own playlist. There are 4 seasons, atm, and each season has one 7-minute video for each member. They're meant to be watched sequentially as there's no overlapping clips between seasons. This is the best way to get more information on the members and get used to their faces across multiple eras. Some people react to each season at a time, while others do all videos for one member at a time. It's really up to you how you want to proceed here. Lastly there's a bunch of Dreamcatcher focused industry type videos floating around. This last one is what I recommend to interested persons and it's called "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher" by Mera. This video is the most comprehensive guide for the History of the group, where they started with Minx, what happened, how they became Dreamcatcher, and the hardships they faced along the way. This guide is older, but it's fantastic and it goes through the Deja Vu era, which is in 2019. If/when you watch this, wait until you've gotten through the Nightmare Series and back to Deja Vu as there are some spoilery things in this. Enjoy!

In "You and I" you can see the spider queen coming for Yoohyeon. She is the old woman that is being photographed - only to rob Yoohyeon's spirit. Also, earlier we see Dongie being pinned to the wall by needles, what is usually done to insects. For me, Yoohyeon's spirit is being pulled out here and thrown into the white dimension, which we will see again in Piri. The spider queen takes over her body, which is why we see JiU try to free Yoohyeon (without success) and grab her neck in the end. I highly recommend to check out the dance practice as well, because Dami does something very special that didn't make it into the MV.

Oh goshhh, so many things I didn’t notice from what you pointed out! I’m also reading the other comments here and the timelines also confuse me but I still feel so lost. I think I really do need to watch the theory vid or have my own sit down to check these little details. So the choreography also has a story? Love that! Will check it out ☺️

Thanks for reacting to Dreamcatcher again! There is no official telling of the storyline, so a lot of it is up for interpretation. My understanding is that after Good Night, the girls are trying to start their lives in the real world. However, the Spider Queen is able to track them down. She attempts to capture JiU but fails. She captures Dami, but that also fails as she frees herself. So she tries another approach by corrupting Siyeon, Handong, and Gahyeon, who reveal Yoohyeon's location. She corrupts an old woman pretending to be a customer but reveals herself and possesses her body, displacing Yoohyeon's soul to the Dreamworld. Jiu gathers the members in an attempt to save her. They succeed in remving the Spider Queen from Yoohyeon's body, but her soul fails to make it back thru the portal before it closes. She's trapped in the Dreamworld.

Ooooooh thank you for this! It makes sense to me now. But I feel like I’m still lost in a way, maybe because I have yet to familiarize myself with each member so I can’t super follow what’s happening to each one yet. But now that you’ve pointed out the Spider Queen and Yoohyeon’s soul not making it back thru the portal, it makes a bit more sense to me that she is in the dreamworld. I really have to sit down and go thru each MV and watch the theories because I’m still lost about the bigger picture. Waaaah sorry 🥺

I'll give you a quick synopsis of the first 3 MVs and give you some recommendations on how you can get to know the members better. Chase Me: We see a ghost hunter investigating a hotel as he sets up devices for an overnight stay. He begins to see the ghostly girls who begin to haunt him. His torment begins to drive him into lunacy and anger. He finds a hidden room where he discovers their true identity and predicament. Good Night: After discovering the girls are not ghosts but real people trapped in the dream world, he tortures them using an evil book he finds in the hotel. However, his fury and delusion blind him to the girls stealing the book and releasing each other one by one. They then use the book to swap places with him, trapping him in the dream world and bringing them back. As they make their way thru the forest, they lose the book. Whether it's purposeful or not is undetermined. Fly High: This is a prequel to the story as we see them enjoying their time at school. JiU discovers a spide outside and keeps it as a pet. Yoohyeon kills the spider with a magnifying glass, and the curse of the spider begins. One by one, each of the members falls to the curse. JiU has an opportunity to run, but she decides to stay to find a way to release the others. From this video, we can deduce that JiU failed to rescue the members, and the school was converted to a hotel at some point. Guide rec's: The Ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcatcher Guide by Dreamworld. This guide is a bit outdated BUT it is probably the most detailed guide out there. Member rec's: The 'This is...' series by insomnicsy. There are videos for wach member and give an in-depth look into their personality. I would start with the oldest versions. Hope this helps!

Full Moon was included on the first Dystopia album so if you're going through the albums it makes sense to watch it there. The second anniversary fan song is also on that album. Both songs were digital releases only.

For lyric videos, you can't always rely on the ones with the highest views. That generally just means they were out first and people always do the same thing and go to the highest views, but often they were rush and get things wrong. Just look at the comments and you'll usually see if people are calling it out for being inaccurate.

You were led astray by people who think You and I is also a prequel when there's only one track that is indicated as one, Fly High (which actually takes place 100 years ago - revealed in another video I mentioned to you before) and is where the curse starts, not You and I. You and I is where the Spider Queen comes back for revenge after the girls escape in Good Night and she takes Yoohyeon which follows in the next videos.

These aren't nit picky details it's broad and obvious these events are the same time period as Fly High. Though when they get cursed by the spider queen soon after burning the spider (not waiting 100 years for revenge) it IS the end of that era. You put the significance on the titles... it's called The Curse of the Spider. They're not cursed until the spider does it... in You and I... before Chase Me (because they had already been cursed by the spider 100 years ago by the time Chase Me happens).

It also makes use of modern lighting fixtures that just didn't look like that back then. 100 years later revenge is for them escaping their curse at the end of Good Night which the spider queen wouldn't be happy about and move in the direction of You and I which album is Escape the Era, which would be an odd name for something occurring before the Nightmare and after the events of Fly High. The girls would be out-of-time people which would have an effect on how they dress and even style a place they have since that would be more comfortable for them. Plus there's tons of places you can go that don't look as modern. IF you point to old cameras, so many photographers collect old cameras and again out of time people would be more comfortable. Exact timeframe can be a bit hazy but definitely not close to the Fly High timelines. Still I go back to Yoohyeon being separated at the end of You and I makes no sense going into Chase Me, but flows directly into What which is 100% modern times.
