"Fly High" is probably the poppiest of the Nightmare arc. It was not done by their usual production team as well. But it makes sense, since this is a prequel, so bringing in a bit of the Minx sound makes sense to me. There are really heavy parts in it as well, which clearly state that they are not Minx anymore. And I love the dark parts thrown in, they really make the song special. The light part sung by SuA after the metal break is in major, while the rest of the song is in minor. That is why it stands out so much. They did the same in Good Night, but a lot shorter. About the MV: You can see Yoohyeon burning the spider, which brought the curse of the spider queen down on the members. You will see the spider queen again in You and I. In Native American mythology, spiders are considered protectors, that is why a Dreamcatcher resembles a spider's net. That is a brilliant connection to their name! 😊

Ooooh makes sense to me now, how it’s the poppiest. MV: so wait, is that why they’re cursed? Because Yoohyeon burned the spider? I reaaaaally need to watch You and I so that it’ll make more sense 😂 a comment also said JiU’s locking herself in has significance? But why did she though?? Any theories? Haha

Thanks for checking out Prequel! Fly High, I feel, does a great job of showing the curse spreading though it's instrumentation. You have these really bright happy sounding parts of the song punctuated by these dark, oppressive stabs of guitar and as the song progresses these interruptions get more intense and longer lasting, until at the end, when the transformation is complete. It's also a nice parallel of Minx becoming Dreamcatcher. And you're right about the ending at least, Jiu closes the gate to trap them inside and to prevent the curse from spreading. Wake Up was one of my least favorite b-sides for a while but after seeing some live performances of it from past concert live streams it's definitely grown on me a lot. Sleep-Walking gives me the biggest nostalgia vibes. It takes me back to sitting in an arcade playing racing games like Cruising USA. This is just the first of many electronic/dance tracks in their discography. Trust Me/It's Okay is one of my favorite ballads. It always gets me in my feels, but it has such a positive message at the same time. My only complaint is that Handong wasn't utilized more. I'm thankful that she has more lines in the newer songs. The next song they released is a single called Full Moon. This was their 1st anniversary fan song. Feel free to include it with your next album reaction if you want. There's a special clip for it on the DC channel. After that is Escape the Era. For this album there is a special clip for the song Mayday.

Oooh I like that, what you said about the curse spreading through instrumentation! I didn’t even notice that. Also, I asked a couple of commenters about the JiU locking herself in and you mentioned about how she did it to prevent the curse from spreading.. which makes sense. I thought there’s like a sinister reason or something. Haha I shall check the next album out and include Full Moon. Thanks! ☺️

Fly High AND You and I together tell how they went from regular girls at the boarding school to end up as bored spirits messing with that guy's dreams for fun in Chase Me. I feel an underappreciated horror element is JiU running away from the Creepy Stuff, gets to the gate, and instead of escaping locks herself inside during the line, "I'm trapped in the nightmare". Wake Up is an amazing concert song they do near the end after all the difficult choreo is over and they're just playing around having fun. For your personal pleasure from the Paris concert a couple weeks ago; JiU in the red dress is known for her relentless energy during concerts kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHuQmH-Jq9SLrbMsi=lTyCFCR2NIGmvWFF. The video for Sleep Walking everyone is telling you about was at the very beginning with no budget and looks like it cost $7 to record, and it's still worth a look because the choreography is captivating. I call it a low quality video of high quality women.

@@sassjastans First Law of Dreamcatcher - It's all of them. That is true in a million ways for every second of the existence of Dreamcatcher which you will gradually discover as you get to know them, and it's true for the Nightmare series too. Without spoilers the name of the next song is You and I, not I Ran Away When I Had the Chance and Left You Trapped With the Creepy Evil Stuff. A theme throughout the Nightmare series is all 7 are together come what may. So it was important the Creepy Stuff not get out into the world the gate had to be closed but they are together no matter what so JiU stayed. Probably with a good idea of the consequences which is what makes it so psychologically terrifying to me. To keep in mind with this group: Second Law of Dreamcatcher - Duality / Suits. (they all have extreme duality so this Law has two parts too) Third Law of Dreamcatcher - "Choreographed by SuA" IS the warning.

Red Sun is probably their most popular b-side special clip, Demian is a recent one, both were choreographed by SuA. The other laws of Dreamcatcher are deep and layered and take time and new experiences to see so many facets... but when you watch something SuA choreographed the last one is super easy to understand 😁.

I suggest for lyric video to bsides among nightmare era using the most recent one. The old ones are broken either translation, highlight who's singing, or both. Zaty Farhani started like from Deja Vu era. Sometimes they added additional audio that annoy people but it's skip able. Random_k is the best one for lyric video not only dreamcatcher but also other groups but it depends on patreon request. Sometimes the song isn't available.

@@sassjastans Zaty Farhani give good translation plus spelling pronunciation (how we pronounce the hangeul). If the duration is way longer, that means there's additional audio in the end. The mistake on highlighting is like 1% overall. Random_k giving chat-like look lyric video. It definitely seems smaller, but nice. Mistake if there's any, they have pinned comment as corrections

Yes you pretty much missed a bunch in Fly High that bears further review. If you do a video going back through it or otherwise, some additional lore / context is to be had in "Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 1st Concert 'Welcome to the Dream World'" to one paying close attention to certain things flashed in it regarding Fly High and when it takes place. (a 4 minute 20 second video). It's hard to describe, it's kind of a dramatic mood video / teaser.

To be honest Fly High is the only title track that didn’t click for me. I understand the logic of it but I can’t vibe to it unfortunately. Wake Up is awesome on the other hand. XD
