Yay diy sail ties! I made so many sail ties in my sailmaking apprenticeship, we used to give them away with our sails and sometimes to random folks who dropped in for free! Youre reminding me to just find a cheap blue water boat and get on this damn sailing dream. Someday i hope I cross paths with you! Your videos have been bringing me back to life lately, reminding me I don't need much to be happy. Adventure is the best medicine for my soul ⛵

It is a huge pleasure to see, hear and on KZbin experience, how you and your solo sailing friends, live your lives in a fantastic way. And you are so fantastic at describing, what you experience out on the world's oceans, in a really good, captivating way. I wish you and your sailing friends, a really good 2024 with hopefully good winds on your way.

Dugongs and manatees are different but related. Both eat sea grass, both have good hearing and both are related to elephants. Dugongs have seven neck vertebrae whereas manatees have six. Manatees can be bigger growing to 13 feet and dugongs grow to 10 feet. Manatees live for around 40 years and dugongs live to around seventy years. Dugongs have a fluked tail like a whale. The manatee tail is not fluked. Manatees have good eyesight. Dugongs have poor eyesight. Three species of manatee: African, American or West Indian and Amazonian. Dugongs found around Australia and Pacific.

Greetings from the Great State of Maine. First snow yesterday in The County. Time to put the boat up. Holly, with this episode, your videography, music, editing, and especially your narration have deepened. Perhaps due to where your mind, body, and soul are at. I heart your stuff. Soft breezes.

Its nice to meet up with friends and sail with a companion. I think your very brave crossing oceans on your own. Id find it too expensive to fly out to places joining a boat to crew. Thanks to you, Jibsea and Le Vagabond I can cruise the worlds oceans from the security of my sofa and see you on widescreen TV.

Sweetie, I’m 61 and wish my dreams were still alive as yours are. You should write a book as you travel. If that sounds too daunting, take the advice given to Jimmy Buffett as he started to write his book, Pirate Looks At 50. Norman wok told him to just write one page a day just one page a day, and Jimmy did that, and found it to be much easier on him, and the book came together, much faster than he thought. Think about all the times you wished you could have caught something on Camera but didn’t, the book gives you the chance to go back and share your experiences and thoughts with the reader in great detail. I hope you do something like that, it would be a great gift to our sailing community.

It is so nice to see people buddy boating, sharing is caring. If you are looking for the best cruiser all-time wear watch to replace with - casio protrek prw3000 could be a very good option. barometer, radio clock sync, solar charge, compass and very reliable, just buy some spare straps as they need replacement regularly.

Found your channel and loving it. Solo sailing is something that takes a lot of experience and bravery. It’s very impressive. Thanks for documenting your travels. There would be some war relics there I’m sure. As far as I know the Japanese were ensconced in some of those islands during WW2. Be an interesting add on to your log if you haven’t already.

Awesome video Winhippie. Let's hope you have some more heavenish sails coming up. I saw a dugong with my kids in WA in 2002 near Exmouth. We were fishing off a beach sandspit. I thought it was the brown back of someone snorkelling! then realised it was a dugong. I didn't have my glasses on! Very cool and totally excellent, you got so close to so many. They are vegetarian compared to most sea mammals that are carnivores? Right? Take care, be safe, and we look forward to two weeks' time. :)
