Her earlier belief that "I will be enough...", man, my heart goes out to her. So many women think or feel that way and it so often results in tragedy. It isn't about "being enough," it's about a man's struggle with a darkness in his soul. A woman alone can't fix that. My wife and I have had similar issues and I feel terrible about what I have put her though.

Preach! Yes Women’s addiction is so real. I was a part of that for so many years. I always had wanted to just find the man I was to marry at 15 onward... Instead I fell in love with a non Christian man and told myself having sex was fine because I am going to marry him, never happened. Each relationship I idolized more than God and more perversion came with it. I always thought “If you can’t beat that your man watches porn you do it yourself”.... it is so poisonous. I had to realize that I was trapped in such a bad spot and that God was so much more important to me than the world and flesh. I had to cry out to him and ask for him to help me become obedient. Thank you Jesus for your love, your grace, and your forgiveness! I now have my godly husband. Praise his holy name!

It's all about your identity! Identity precedes behavior. When you see yourself as a "sinner saved by grace", you'll act out as a person who is continually fighting your sin (primarily because you claim that sin as your own ... but that's another sermon). We are NOT "sinners saved by grace". We are Saints walking in Grace and GREATNESS! You're a Son and your Father DESPERATELY loves you!!! When you know who you are in Christ, you don't walk in sin and that knowledge of your identity makes if easy for you to walk away from things that don't line up with the person you know you are; a Son. When you see yourself as a sinner, you will struggle with sin. When you see yourself as a Saint washed in your Savior's Blood, you walk in that newness, knowing that Sons of the Most High God don't do those things. Bill Johnson was quoted as saying, "Jesus never sinned because he didn't see the value in it." You're a Son!! You have value! Walk in your identity! Walk in newness every day! Walk in Power and Grace!!! Be a Son!!!

I'll tell you what, I'm a young adult in college (20 this year) and I've been looking at porn for the last 4+ years, I'm extremely artistic and my mental ability with my art skills increased fast every year starting from early childhood until 15 which is when my mental artistic ability started declining, because that's when I started watching pornography, it hit an all time low 2 years ago, when I got into watching some of the most depraved pornography out there, now I'm almost not watching it at all and my artistic mentality is starting to grow and thrive again

The churches I know haven’t mishandled this topic. They just won’t deal with it. They won’t talk about it. I have wondered if some of our pastors are not involved in this because they won’t talk about it. Us wives need a lot of help dealing with our husbands who have fought this battle since they were young boys or teenagers. And the church has been hopeless and helpless to us, and for us, on this topic.

Thanks for this informative podcast! Nick really knows his stuff, about the deeper insecurities men face when they feel tempted to watch porn. Women may not get as aroused visually by porn, but they may get aroused by reading erotic stories or writings describing sexual scenes. This is called Literotica or “mommy porn”. If left unchecked or fought against, this can become an addiction too, and women can get lost in fantasy rather than reality.

To help me i do these 2 things but their is no one step fix all its diffrent for everyone so take as much as you can. 1 pray to God to show you out. 2 surrender the addiction and all the parts attached to it. You must understand your own struggle where you are weak how it hurts you and why you cant do it any more. Prayers for you.

If pastors had the guts to deal with themselves they could help their congregation but again it comes back to being selfish. Shame too is selfish. It’s “all about me” NO consideration for your wife and how her heart aches and how the families in your church are suffering. Deal with it openly and honestly with her and them. How many pastors are messed up? And we keep going to listen to them on Sunday and at Bible studies. I don’t trust any men in leadership around me anymore. Jesus is my only hope. I’m almost at the point I don’t want to go to church anymore. Why should I?

Obviously, addiction to pornography is terrible. If you can’t get through the day without watching porn, you have a problem. But this guy would go a full year without watching it and we’re still gonna act like he has some major problem? It’s not like he’s having an affair with a coworker or something. I think God forgives us if we’re trying to do what’s right, even if we make mistakes along the way.
