The furniture catalog is awesome! The one dresser in there when you were looking at it looks like my victorian dresser! I think it maybe the same as the picture as even before the catalog, the style of dovetails it has on the drawers are circa 1880.

My mom used to say the same thing about her house. She hated cleaning the house so as little children, we would surprise our mom in the middle the night we wake up and clean house and then we go back to bed and pretend it was the cleaning Fairy. That’s what you need a cleaning Fairy.

My 49 year old husband would do the same thing for his Momma. She was a single hardworking woman who when she would come home she would make dinner and do laundry, He would stay up late and clean the kitchen and wipe down everything and fold the laundry while she slept. She would wake up in the morning and say did my cleaning fairy visit last night? He would say yes mom! she wanted you to get some rest. She passed at 63 of ovarian cancer and he was her caregiver 24/7 until her last breath. She was an Great Lady!! I now have her fairy in my kitchen and laundry room at night, married to me, watching over me and his name is Justin, US Navy 24 years ret.🥰

Robert, use your head. Lay a piece of plywood or OSB down on the cleared spot to distribute your weight and keep you from going through that rotten floor, and then pull the things you want to work on back onto it to sort them and carry them out. When you can't reach any more stuff, bring up another piece of OSB. You are going to use them for the floor anyway. Might as well use them to keep yourself safe in the meantime.

I think that I'd lay a 4 x 8 sheet of OSB on the floor and push it up to the trash pile. I'd kneel on the OSB, fill trash bags, expose open floor, push the OSB forward and continue clean up. It might require more than one piece of OSB as the trail forward through the trash exposes rotted flooring. At least you're finding treasures to help offset falling through the floor. 👍👍👍

Get to a solid spot on the floor and use a grabber. Many elderly people use a grabber and they work quite well. Problem solved!

Oh..... that Robert, he Is Smart Enough to Know... there are better solutions. 😋 He has an "it will never happen to me" Mind-set. > He's not going to listen to us. Besides, I think he likes to 'mess' with us. (he has a great sense of humor) > I can just see him...laughing out loud, as he is editing his videos.... knowing that 'jump' will get him more.....comments.

I Searched: "Why do young men think they are invincible?" (A Sense of Immortality?) Answer: "It is normal for adolescents (😆) to have a sense of being uniquely invincible." As a result, they may engage in risky behaviors. This way of thinking may limit their ability to Assess Situations, Risks, and Future consequences. Keep on Jumpin' Robert, we love you ! And no worries....I am sure, all we will send you 'get well' messages, when you are in the hospital (as long as you can get WiFi)

Have you heard about the hurricane force winds hitting Southern California? My brother Eric lives in West Covina, California and I'm hoping he isn't affected too much.

Please scan the furniture catalog and sell copies on your store site. That's a wonderful find and would help others trying to date their furniture, etc. As far as the storm, I am east of you and in our area, we haven't had that much rain and flooding since 1972. Best wishes!

9:32 would that old ceiling fan still work? Could connect it, and turn it on for a few hours to suck out all the bad odours.

Robert, I wonder what you'd pay for that furniture today? Why don't you a lay a few more boards over the floor in that area to distribute your weight. First pile some of that stuff on top of each other to make a flat area. You can do it! Cheers, Rik Spector

Because of the wood the furniture is made of and how it's made it's probably still in someone's house somewhere.
