The choreography for Serendipity WAS made for Jimin. It was choreographed by Brian Puspos…..an American choreographer that is one of Jimin’s favorite. He has a very unique dance style….just like Jimin💜

I think that the meaning of filter is beautiful in the way it is multilayered like many filters stuck on each other. There's a critique for beauty standards, gender expression, and the kpop industry, but there's also a confidence that you pick up from the tone of the song, his voice, his expression and his movements during the performance. The song is placed right between the Shadow side and the Ego side of their album "Map of The Soul: 7". I think this is important to fully grasp why this song has so much contrast and why Jimin was needed to represent this aspect. Jimin is very much a people pleaser, he thrives off praises and compliments when they are coming from the heart. Due to this characteristic, he tends to be a perfectionist and works really hard to make sure every aspect of the performance and his stage persona is always on point. He's always very posed and polite when he's in professional interview mode, being highly emotionally intelligent, he's very good at pinning down everybody's best qualities and makes sure to share them with the people he loves, to make them feel appreciated and comforted, and he's good at expressing himself especially when it comes to his emotions in a way that moves people and makes him relatable. However, he can be really goofy and cute when he wants to make people laugh and grab attention, he's mischievous when he can be and likes to engage in Tae's roleplays. He's also very flirty and when he's not in the mood he can get pretty sassy. Adaptability has been something that throughout their concepts they have been playing with a lot. However, his nature as a perfectionist has been something that also gave him a hard time, especially in the beginning. When they started, their concept was very like "tough guy", "hip-hop head", "overly masculine" and so on. He had to adapt to this concept tho it wasn't necessarily something that fit him like a glove. He described "himself from that time" as somebody that was trying really hard and looking at his older clips in an interview he kept on saying something along the lines of "it's okay, you can relax, you've got nothing to prove". When they started to experiment more with their group's concepts and music, he slowly became more and more confident in his craft, in his abilities and even in his gender expression. You can see during the performance of Filter how he would do some more aggressive, almost krumping-like moves and then strut with a hip sway and shoulder shrug. This is very Jimin IMO. His adaptability was something that he used against himself in the beginning, but now it's one of his biggest strengths. That is why the message is going from the Shadow, the things of our subconscious that we disown and we are scared of, to our Ego, our compass, the parts of ourselves that we rely our trust on. The fact that he has so many aspects in his personality and different personas was something he wasn't comfortable showing us, but now it entertains him to see people's reactions to his duality, how the fans go crazy when he acts all cute, and then kills them with a powerful dance move or intense glance. He feels in full control of this part of his identity and can use it in his favour. Throughout his career, he was criticized for all the different stages of his body weight, his style, his abilities, his image, his personality, and his muscle mass. He's at a point where he's like "might as well have fun with it". His journey to self-love is truly inspirational to me

I'm fully agreeing with you, this song is definitely multi layered. and like, none of the possible interpretations of it are wrong, it all depends on your own associations. when I first heard this song, I couldn't understand how others stated that it's about toxic relationships, cuz I only saw the monologue of the person with the "filter" personality. person who has a lot of sometimes even antonymic traits in them, who displays this traits in different combinations according to their mood, circumstances they're in, people around them, etc. and all this different combinations of traits a _them_, not some fake persona. yeah, these combinations might be not their "core self", but it's not like we truly share our "core selves" or "inner selves" with other people, unless these people are really close to us. depending on situation, they can be "Aladdin" or "genie"...

Serendipity has lullaby vibes and is indeed my daughter’s lullaby song. If she’s upset as well and I can’t calm her down, serendipity has without fail every time. Another thing too, Jimin I’d say is like a Siren. It doesn’t matter what gender you are, his beautiful soft voice will, as you said, lock you in. Once you Jim-in, you can’t Jim-out indeed 😂

A few things: - The MV for Serendipity was heavily inspired by the imagery & themes of Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince." - I think your thoughts about the lyrical meaning of Filter are spot-on. Jimin is one of the credited writers; I think he's at once very intelligent and perceptive about himself & how others perceive him. His personality seems to be a mixture of many things, but his tendency to be a people-pleaser & someone who seeks others' approval are def. an undercurrent in the song. - The maroon suit in the live perf. of Filter included a cummerbund - t's traditionally worn with a tuxedo.

Jimin's solo songs are incredible and the way he performs is just on another level. I have said this before probably better. Jimins brilliance lies in the tension berween opposites. Sharp and languid, empatic and delicate, smooth and stacato, ethereal and powerful, delicate and impactful, gentle and powerful, beauty and masculinity.
