Ooo I really want to try this, it's been on my radar. Cafe Cabanel and Ooo La La is what I'm curious about. Cherie, speaking of new houses, you need to sample Maison Violet Parfums!! There are some goodies from that house that I think are right up your alley. 😁

You describe scents so well. I have several samples from this house and was so excited to try them, but they ended up being much different that I expected (e.g., too floral, too powdery, etc.). The notes I'd hoped would pop were just no match for the notes I didn't like, of course. I stashed them away, disappointed. I'm going to give them another try and maybe I'll be able to pick up on some of the notes and nuances you experienced, as you made them sound so lovely!

You covered my three favorites from this house...I have bottles of Je Ne Sais Quoi, Rendez Vous, and Oh La La. I also have Alahine, which is a beautiful powdery floral amber. I had ordered the discovery set and there were also a lot that I didn't like at all, so it was a bit hit or miss for me...but that's true for most fragrance houses! Great review, Cherie.

A friend of mine gifted me with some samples and Oh Là Là is really woody on me. Like straight pencil shaving mixed cough syrup. Body chemistry I guess… Not a favorite unfortunately (sorry ☺️). I still have a few to try but Rendez-vous and Lace Garden are my favorites so far. Café Cabanel is delicious but not for me. Méloé is one I’d pick for summer.

i enjoy Teo Cabanel fragrances. I am so happy they have 30mls and that they are affordable, but very good quality perfumes. i also expected Cafe Cabanel to be a straight up lactonic coffee gourmand based on people's descriptions.. but is is more of a spicy amber in the entrance... but i get the beautiful lactonic accord in the base... very strong cinnamon in the entrance for me...i really enjoy it now... i gave in to JNSQ. it is so unique to me that I felt a connection -I guess it is that realistic rice note... Oh La La blew my mind too ! I literally said OMG when I smelled it... so beautiful :)
