Best way to cook bacon...put it in a cold oven , then turn oven to 425, leave for 15 min. Done to perfection.

Our Florida is special in so many ways. And the merging of two rivers is called a confluence. The Rainbow is one of the best places to kayak. And the Withlacoochee has the look of old Florida. Glad you enjoyed the Sunshine State.

Take it from some that used to drive a truck for a living. Plugged tires are good to get you to a tire store, not to keep driving permanently if you have a heavy load on the tire.

Florida is so much more than beaches and tourism. The FL ya’ll are getting to experience now is the Real Florida. So glad you’re exploring my awesome state! Hope you get to see the infamous monkeys in the Silver River. The tip is to get at least 2.5 miles down the river from the head spring. The monkeys have literally followed me down the river before from the shore because they could smell my lunch in my bag. There were at least 40 that I saw, it was really cool but also a little freaky.

I cook my bacon in the oven. Use a pan or cookie sheet with raised edges. Cover the pan with parchment paper and then cover the bacon with parchment paper. Comes out super crispy with no mess! 400 degrees 15 to 20 minutes. If your bacon is real thin - may take less. ❤

Another great video for all of us to enjoy. I especially love the drone shots. We love "Old Florida" and the best way to discover it is by traveling the backroads through all the little towns that have been bypassed by I-75 & I-95. "Y'all come back soon, you hear!"

Lol I lived a mile from the Withlacootchie river when I was 16. Me, my sister and a friend used to go down to the river, get in and wash our hair. So one of those times we were in the river casually washing our hair when one of us looked about 10 feet from us was a GATOR just cruising along 😂 You’ve never seen teenagers get out of a body of water SO FAST !! Needless to say that ended our trips into the river lol. Also after I was married we went camping at Rainbow River and floated down it In inner tubes. It was summer so the water was perfect! Great place to camp and I loved being able to see what was in the water 😆 Y’all brought me back to my younger days… like the 70’s 😊

In Columbus Junction Iowa, a product was invented nearly 20 years ago called “Bug Soother”. It works amazing on gnats! It’s a little pump spray and smells like bubble gum. You will experience no gnats with this on. Not sure if it will work on the bugs you are talking about. Before Bug Soother, we used to roll Absorbine Jr on our skin, works just as good but smells mediciny.

Just a comment about safety around Florida lakes, ponds, rivers... and swamps. Another KZbinr went exploring around Old Florida in his kiak.. oblivious to how dangerous and wide spread Alligators are. They are not to be taken lightly. The threat is real. Please remain cautious. PS: Yup the catch with almost all Florida / East Coast beaches is The Parking! Beach access is a nightmare.

I love this area of Florida you're exploring now.....the real Florida! Hope you made it to Cedar Key. There's so much to explore headed back west along the coast towards Pensacola. Wakulla Springs and St Mark's National Wildlife Refuge are some of my favorite places. Ochlockonee River State Park is another favorite and you may see the white piebald deer and white squirrels there. I'm happy you're enjoying my home state as much as I enjoyed Arkansas when I visited it. Have you discovered the Florida National Scenic Trail? Google it for info or visit floridatrail.org
