He was, indeed, sooo shy as a kid. Had to work him for 45 minutes before he'd call a girl. Had to beg and plead with him in the basement of Jim McMillan's house to sing. He would play harp or keys but was certain he just wasn't a singer. Then we played the high school talent show and he got a standing ovation. His course was set that night, I was told.
