It is more accurate to visualize spacetime as a true 3D grid. In this representation, the curvature of spacetime is not due to bending into a higher dimension but rather due to the warping and distortion of the grid itself.

One thing I have been thinking about is the distortion of space similar to this but the grid lines being displaced by the objects. So it would look more like the ripples of a rock dropped into a pond. The denser the object the higher displacement of space. I don’t know if that’s clear but it makes sense to me.

This is the opposite of geodesic deviation.. geodesic deviation is the supposed cause of downward bias. 😵‍💫
