Another interesting exploration guys, I’m still amazed at the finds, albeit rails, buckets etc, but the history is quite something else. As for the car, yep, how did it get there!

As a Yank, I love learning the various mining terms used on your side of the pond. Of course, it IS rather easy to see the origin of "coffin level," as it does indeed look like an incredibly deep coffin stood on its side. As far as the upended Mini, however, I believe both our countries might call that "a bloody F#%&-up," or words to that effect. Wonderful video, as always!

Someone getting rid of a stolen car… or it was used as a dump… many of the mines got used as dumps by land owners… one near me was filled in with junk back in the 70s the farmer was taking cheaper payments to dump stuff than the actual dumps were

Quite a bit of dobbing in that first mine. I am always surprised that the rails and pipes are still in the mines, considering the metal shortages in WW2.

Is it possible to explore the mines the VoR used to serve in it's early days or have you already done so. I was recently out at a mine site called CSA underground mine which started in 1871 and is still being worked today at Cobar NSW Australia. They mine copper with an annual production of 180K tons+ at a depth of 1640 meters with 300+ miners. There are other mines in the area which mine lead, zinc, sliver and gold and they were started in 1983-1992. The town of Cobar only exists because of the mining but has been there since the early 1860's. The second discovery really was a Mini mine.

Were you serious when you said it was a squirrel hiding an acorn? If so would a squirrel venture into a tunnel is completely dark. You seemed quite far in.
