Discovery 2 cabin air fan cleaning

Thanks for the video! I need to tackle my cracked windscreen cowl and seal up around that fan intake. BTW... that long strip pollen filter you can by at Home Depot for $12 a sheet for air conditioners and then cut it to size & length. That's wha t I had to do for my 2001 DIsco 2.

Fyi ... you dont have to remove glove box to drop and clean out blower ... just three screws at the bottom ... lower slides out.

Water can still get into the cabin through the air intake, even if you do have a windshield cowl. Also, if you have a broken or missing DRIP MOLDING, you will get a very wet carpet, and weird electrical things happening. The ECM and BCM can get wet. The drip molding is at the top of the exterior A-pillar, at the end of the rain gutters. They are at the top corners of the windshield. I know this because for 2 years I have had a water problem and could not figure it out until I took that pillar off and started pouring water!!!

That is the clip for your pollen filter, under the hood.. Cheeky bugger must have slipped through the AC grill.

Did you ever find the dust cover thingy? My son has 3 D2s, and I have not seen any cover, other than the lower trim piece for the windshield.

I don't think there is a dust cover for them. I think initial designs thought the cowl going across the whole windshield would be enough, but it's not. I've read of a covering for the cabin air intake on the forums, but I haven't found a product for it online.
